Wow! Such a nice interview! It's great to hear how graphic design is involved in film making. Thanks for sharing!

Tbh how they simplified the licensing is truly helpful for the communication between client and designer, and also because of that as designer we somehow prefer to use Dinamo rather than the others

Johannes and Fabian are incredibly humble, I love that they aren't afraid to show personality through their work. Amazing q+a!

Their fonts are fantastic, but I can't stand the popular, nonchalant behaviour and stupid merch/gadget culture.

I keep coming back to this video because I'm right in the middle of my rising sense of misery working at creative agencies for years. I just quit this morning, to have a break first, but who know if that's the push I needed to actually try my hand at freelancing. I've literraly watched this video a douzen time just to hear her tell the story of how she quit on the spot. Legend.

Nice guy, good storyteller, insightful and obviously a very good and influential designer. But sometimes it feels like he's tokenised - where are all the black designers? It's always Hassan! Photographers and Illustrators have a way more diverse community. A while ago you featured Greg Bunbury, but honestly his work is so bad that he's not even relevant. I find it hard to believe that there are no good black designers... even in-house or at a studio.
@retrospective772 ай бұрын
Marginalised communities are quite often appeased by having one/some of their members praised or given an opportunity, regardless if it's the same people over and over again. Like you say, there are plenty of black designers out there but either those making the decisions think the work of Hassan is representative of an entire demographic within the industry, or they're too lazy (too uninterested?) to explore and showcase others.
@YollowBoys2 ай бұрын
He’s definitely tokenised because I feel like his personality is so marketable. He definitely does not represent what the market is making tbh
@m-tetsuo2 ай бұрын
@@retrospective77 Though I feel that calling black people in the US a marginalised community is infantilization, upholding the perception of inequality - I agree, it's lazy and uninterested!

Lots of great points, great work, and thought-provoking statements. However, I think there is too much unwarranted emphasis placed on innovation and not fitting in the "sea of sameness." Making a visual identity that is better than AI generation is a low bar. If you think the work shown is innovative, then you're not looking around wide enough. Is it beautiful? Yes. Is it innovative? No.
