Hello, thanks for the video and information. I have a question. Are questions like the ones in this video asked in the CKA exam? Or is a backup taken from an external etcd-server like in the restore method 2 section of Kodekloud?

Hi! I took my CKA exam yesterday, I got the question about ssh into node, and perform back up and restore of etcd with peer.key and peer.crt. If I passed those in when backing up, I received “no such file or directory” error on the peer.crt/peer.key. Any idea what to do here? Can’t find any examples out there that does this either. I also tried server.crt and server.key, but all I got was “permission denied”, so I suspect I have to authenticate with the peer flags somehow(?) These peer flags were also not present when checking the etcd pod’s commands. I do see in the docs, under Securing Communication that there are some peer flags for configuring etcd with secure peer comm., but these flags were unknown to the etcdctl tool
@InfiniteLinux18 күн бұрын
what location were you passing for the peer.key and peer.crt - did you check the etcd yaml file, it would be on control plane node under /etc/kubernetes

Thanks for the video. I think nowadays the first round is to do your Craft Exercise in realtime (90 mins). I believe it's quite challenging unless they make the problem simpler. Would you provide some insight on that, or the type of questions?
@InfiniteLinux15 күн бұрын
It is a very abstract problem that you get with very little information - I would say this is the easiest round because in this round you can use your imagination as much as you want - assume whatever you want to with proper reasons why did you assume that - so you have a sort of freedom on how you want to go about the problem

How are the state files + backends managed in this type of setup? Lets say we are using s3 backend with AWS provider, we will have separate buckets for each environments? (prodbucket, demobucket)

That depends, if you have separate AWS accounts for different env then yes, you will need to have separate buckets

Is the prometheus deployment sharing the same namespace as the nginx app? If we have 2 different apps running in a k8s cluster in different namespaces, does each namespace have to have a prometheus deployment?

No, you just have to run one instance of prometheus and it will scrape metrics from pods from all the namespaces

Containers and images in Docker are pretty much the same: a stack of layers (which are ssh commands) locally cached to improve performance and avoid over fetching, the real difference is that containers place an extra layer at the very top of the image (which means a stack of layers) for read-write operations' permissions and that's it, beyond that, containers and images are just abstractions that Docker engine for making the thing human-friendly or human readable. BIG LESSON FROM THIS VIDEO, thank you so much! Greetings from Colombia.

Ok, now the EKS cluster is created and you can see the node instance type is t3.medium. Now here, I want to change my instance type to t3.large or in some other instance family. How to achieve via modules. And while doing this what would be an impact?
@InfiniteLinux2 ай бұрын
so if you read the module doc, you can find that there is a way to pass the instance type, you can update it there and run the terraform apply again, it will be a rolling update for the autoscaling group, so Ideally there should not be any impact
@Niruukumar2 ай бұрын
@@InfiniteLinux ok, it will do rolling update for auto scaling group on a fly and doesn't effect already running applications.
@InfiniteLinux2 ай бұрын
@@Niruukumar it should not, before terminating any node, kuberenetes will first cordon that node so that no new pods get spun on that, then moves the pod running on that node to another node

I need your information for this technical round with US team. My location in Dublin, ireland the final technical round with US team. hey Satya, so if you have cleared the first 2 technical rounds, that's a good sign, because then the 3rd round becomes alot easy as hiring team has already formed an opinion about you, if this round is with some principal engineer, you can expect scenario based questions and questions based on your experience, at autodesk there is no set format for any interview so I can be completely wrong but if you have done your previous rounds well, there;s a 90% chance that you will get through

This will help me a lot with troubleshooting why my file scanner is not detecting a particular file path (I suspect it has something to do with which partitions are mounted and are being scanned). @InfiniteLinux3 ай бұрын
As a fresher, you would have to stand out from the crowd, if you don't get placed at your college, all the companies do some hiring off campus for freshers, create a strong linkedin network, connect with people from your domain and ask for referrals
