877g and 1255g of flour? Why them amounts? Where did they come from? Why not, 500g, 1kg or 1250g? Saying, "let's call that", is not helpful when you don't explain, rounding off and dividing by 100. You said the batch will make 10 baguettes, how do you know? Cause an unbaked baguette weighs different from a baked baguette. The 168.6% figure you give, what do you do with it or how is it helpful with anything? This video is pretty useless and as clear as mud. P.S. you forgot the oil

Rounding is common in all math, it's not just her guessing. She explains dividing by 100 because your flour is 100% and the base of all your other ingredient percents, so they must each be divided by that 100%. This also tells you how much raw dough you need to bake a properly sized baguette; they do weigh different amounts and this is how you determine that difference. Expanding your basic baking knowledge would probably be best before you view this video and criticize the creator. Also there's no oil or fat in a baguette.

Thanks Nicki and Mike for your thoughts and ideas! It's always a pleasure to hear your voices and feel the connection. When my students express their fear of making mistakes, I always tell them that we all make mistakes. I try and reassure them that making mistakes is beneficial: "[ their] best teacher is their last mistake" (Brainyquote). I think we all need to keep this in mind. We will make mistakes, but we will also learn from them.

I like the idea of inviting them to show an object. I do the same for people who are shy about having a profile photo. I invite them to put up a different photo, e.g., one of their socks or a houseplant.

Thanks William. Something simple like that can work wonders helping students open up. I am not sure if I have a pair of socks worth sharing.
@SocialWorkProfessor4 жыл бұрын
@@TheTLX Quick story. Last year, my students noticed that when I show a movie in class, I often get comfortable by putting my feet up on the desk. They further noticed that I often wear crazy patterned socks. For the end of the year, the class bought me a pair of funky socks, which I wore to my PhD defense. I passed and I credit the socks.

Hi Jason, Do you want to edit the live subtitles? I I don't think that can be done.

When I click on the share application/Screen tab, it automatically shows my screen. I do not have the option of choosing one of the Chrome/application window/your entire screen.
@TheTLX4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hamidreza, You must be running Powerpoint in the web version for the subtitling to work. I am posting a video now on how to do that.
