How did you get into outpatient surgery? Did you ever work inpatient?

Hi! I worked in the ICU for four months and didn’t really enjoy it. I found that some outpatient surgery centers are willing to train new grads, you just have to find them! I recommend calling/emailing them directly

I personally work 4 x 8 hour shifts a week, and will usually do 2-4 hours of overtime on top of that :)

The NCLEX is wild to me. I'm a UK nurse studying for the NCLEX so that we can (hopefully) move to Canada in the next 5 years 🙏🏽 Its so difficult because over here, we train in just one area of nursing, unless we opt to go back and study more years in another field. I'm now doing an extra year (starting Tuesday) and doing an integrated masters in nursing and studying a second field for this extra year! Anything that will help me, im doing it! Hi! Just saw your comment! I wanted to stay in California, so I researched all accelerated BSN programs in the state. Then I basically prioritized programs that were 15 months or less and applied to a couple. I also think it's a good idea to apply to schools that have similar pre-requisite requirements. That way you don't have to take a million pre-reqs. After that, I just committed to whichever school had the best reviews and honestly made the most sense based on where we were living at the time. One thing I would recommend researching is if the schools you're applying to let you do your capstone/senior practicum in a specialty you're interested in (if you have a specific interest). My school doesn't let us do our capstone in Pediatrics, NICU, or anything L&D/Postpartum related :(

Lone Star College is a great option depending on your location in Houston! Their only pre-requisites are A&P 1 and English 1 since it’s a community college. They are also one of the only community colleges in Houston with a BSN program.

Honestly, all nursing schools are the same in terms of learning. They don't teach, you have to learn all on your own which is very unfortunate. You should choose the one that is affordable and close to where you live. Cause there will probably be commuting to and from school.

Truly love your content, it always makes me feel homely 💕 it's so tiring being on clinical isn't it? I've got 2 weeks left of this 8 week block I've been doing on a dementia unit. I have been doing 47.5 hours in the hospital every single week 😭 so exhausted! Keep going girly, you've got this 💜

@@sophietheresaaa Crazy isn't it 😭 only 2 more weeks left though, then O to dissertation and prescribing ready and then back to 47.5 hour weeks in May for 7 weeks 😭 SOOO much to do isn't there?! As soon as these 2 weeks are over I'm straight into skills week at uni Mon - Fri and then having a new kitchen fitted the following Monday which will take 2 weeks 🤦🏽♀️😭 Literally going to be losing my marbles by the end of March 😭🤦🏽♀️🤣❤ it really is so important isn't it ❤ sending love to you ❤

I adore your vlogs! I was so confused doing my first ECG 😆 it's funny how quickly you pick things up though isn't it? I can now do them without a second thought on placement of electrodes etc. So many nursing skills we need to know as nurses isn't there? Keep going with your vlogs, love them ❤
