Wunderschön. Nur etwas dumpf. Das Mikrophon steht zu weit weg.

A beautiful arrangement and rendition of one of my favorite Filipino (Visayan) folk songs. This song always moves me. I hope the UST Singers will hold another concert like this one soon.

It's supposed to be a festive song but the way it's interpreted in the intro is it's like for a cult or death ritual and the way it proceeded until the end is stiff. You ruined the origin and meaning of the song. It's so sad that the culture you're supposed to show is not really there. Uhm..still, 2 claps for trying.

Absolutely beautiful composition, beautifully sung. It captures the love of Ruth for Naomi, Ruth 1:16-18.

Blomfield, Dorothy F. , was born at 3 Finsbury Circus, Oct. 4, 1858. Miss Blomfield is the eldest daughter of the late Rev. F. G. Blomfield, sometime Rector of St. Andrew's Undershaft, London, and granddaughter of the late Dr. Blomfield, Bishop of London. Her very beautiful hymn for Holy Matrimony, “O perfect Love, all human thought transcending," was written for her sister's marriage in 1883, and was intended to be sung to Strength and Stay, in Hymns Ancient & Modern, No. 12. Subsequently it was set as an anthem by J. Barnby for the marriage of the Duke of Fife with the Princess Louise of Wales, on July 27, 1889. In 1889 it was included in the Supplemental Hymns to Hymns Ancient & Modern, and in 1890 in the Hymnal Companion. (In this version it is being sung at half speed of the intended tempo.)

At 5:28 when the sopranos sustain as other voices fade, it is so ethereal. 🥺🥺🥺

Naka touch and it brings nostalgic feeling to see the Alumni Singers residing abroad serenading Sir Fidel.

This kind of music by UST and all other great groups should be back and not cancelled .! We need this and not what we have now : an ll Ameriacan / Korean music by filipino singers!
