Just been cleaning one of mine today. Fairy liquid and engine degreaser and a lot of shaking got a lot of gunk out, but it was still stained. I then poured lots of sugar (no water) in there and gave it a good shake, and it got most of the stubborn stuff off!. Then rinced it. 😎 I've also now left it with some coke overnight as I know it works over night on rusty/dirty penny's. Will see if it's helped at all on the remaining stains in the morning.

nice vid, planning to use some of those inline Wagos to tidy up the wiring to my golfs head unit. Best place I've found for small quantities (~10) of Wagos including those inline ones is TLC Electrical if you have a branch nearby.

the gear stick bracket fits after the heater box is removed, they do make a shorter one if the box is still fitted. I have recently removed mine which was easy and then you need to sort out the thermostat housing and a shorter aux belt when the air con pump is removed

@@dadskillzcars You remove the carpet to fit the cage, then think you might as well remove the underlay which involves taking the dash and heater box out and down a hole you go -- if the cage has door bars then you need to loose the door cards, the foam behind is held on with sealant which is horrible to remove, another can of worms!! welcome to my world

We service a fleet of these for an Equestrian College (ranging from '15 to '22 plate) and they take an absolute beating, the '15 plate ones are well north of a 160,000 miles but they keep on going. That era do suffer from fuel gauge issues (3 or 4 of the ones we look after have stickers says refuel before 400 miles) and also instrument panel failure so new clocks have been fitted.

That’s interesting about the fuel gauge, I think mines ok maybe but I filled it up, done 100 miles and the gauge hasn’t moved!? What’s the cam belt change mileage?

Just checking that you'll be putting the rear seat backs, back on. All the Targa cars I've seen have them, but folded down. You probably have, but just check on the rules around the rear seat belts too. Although the seats can't be used with the cage, it might still be a requirement for MOT as the seats are technically still there! Love the channel. Been following for a while as bought a Audi TT for autosolo myself. Can't do Targa due to fact it's a quattro. 😢

Took my daughter last week to drive the porsche cayman shes only 11 so loved it. They offered me discounted laps but i had to pay another £29 for my insurance, so we just did 2 hot laps in the golf gti as passengers, that cost me another £30! I should have known better as ive been before and drove a 69 mustang. Also it was £50 for my daughters videos and only 5 pictures!!

i drove the gt40 at abingdon with 3 other cars 2y ago and had an absolute blast, my main problem was being stood out 30+c pure sun waiting between cars so i would recommend sun cream as i looked like a drumstick that evening, also 2 of the cars i picked werent available (600hp r32 gtr and mclaren 720s) swapped for ferarri 348 which wasnt great being LHD and quite slow, and the huracan which would've been great if instructor would let me get a feel for the car rather than shout nonsense at me. The GT40 and the Ariel atom supercharged instructors let me get on with it though. i am blind in my left eye though so if they were signing anything to me and i couldnt hear them then good for me lol. want to book again with maybe 12 laps just of the gt40. can buy one for around 70k which i very much want to do in future. semi realistic-ish dream car? actually i remember the atom experience wasnt good. was stuck behind an r8 driving slow af and their instructor didnt give me signal to pass for at least 3 of the 6 laps, also not being allowed out of 4th gear so tight corners were boring. gt40 was by far the best on this experience!

Hi, going to one of these tomorrow, 29th August 2024, bought by my wife for my birthday. I’ve read some feedback comments on this event and there were quite a few one star negative, plus from what you say I’m going to be very interested in my experience. A couple of things I’m concerned about are lack of facilities/cover in the event of inclement weather, length of time waiting, having to take our own seats. When I found out this had been booked I thought I would be able to get going a bit, but it seems they put the driving of the car as the experience not the speed, and silly me I thought I would be the only car on the track but it looks like there will be quite a few others so making progress will be out of the question, interesting to see if I will be able to overtake. It seems it depends on the slowest driver. Let you know how it went tomorrow.

The comparison may be skewed by the fact that heat (in this case, boiling hot water) was only used for one of the tests. I wonder how effective some of the other tests might have been, if they were using boiling hot liquids.

Nice review of the day. I did mine in Abingdon last weekend. I drove the Ferrari 250R (a Testa-Rossa replica, beautiful car, terrible driving experience, but fun) and the Ferrari California (which was superb, so I paid for 2 extra laps from the 2 I had booked). Alas, even though the Cali did have a video camera, there was no recording on my card when I went to pay for it. Yes, it’s a long day and totally a money spinner for them but, if you are aware of the extras, it’s a nice day out. And as you said, nice selection of cars.
