Most of these problems are from Xtra large, huge deep thread tires on lifted machines. Leave the machines closer to stock if you're going to beat on em in front of your friends. Showing off is a thing with RZR's...................

Hello, I would like to know how this happens? What causes the breakage? Is it possible that it is the front axle that engages the 4wd while driving that causes the gearbox to break? Large-diameter tires?
@armedfarm3429Ай бұрын
You said it with the last 3 words. Crazy big heavy tires with 2 in thread depth, insane. Some dealers set them up as per customer order but cut any warranty out. They do it anyway.

So it’s a open differential that provides power to both front wheels and when one happens to spin it provides the same power to both wheels. Don’t know when it would be 3 wheel drive
@freddyw4555 Жыл бұрын
I think the company calls it the final drive and the open differential is in the front. The back wheels turn at the same speed.

The drive shaft do a banana shape when the splines are as loose as they are, this condition create pulsating radial side loading on the bearing assembly, leading to a reduced service life and premature failure. Prop shaft phasing is also critical to transmit the rotational forces from the output ( transfer case ) to the input ( diff ) the most fluidly possible, avoiding pulsating load on the driveline is the key . Typical causes of these are, poor manufacturing processes, to much torque applied to drive line ( More power Yoh!!! ), lack or lubrication, or lubricant contamination by abrasive materials that will exacerbate the wear in the splines over time( earth, sand and such ).

Is there much point if rebuilding a diff and reusing both gears to re-shim or is that just calling for trouble? I understand that reshimming should be done if pinion and gear are being replaced but what about if reusing them?

Can you pull the shaft apart at the boot, turn and have it phased?

no sir in most cases where the yokes are welded to the tube is the issue and not clocked properly

@@mudNwheels don’t understand? Another reply down below you say yes it can be just slipped off and turned?
@mudNwheels2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSponge945 let me re phrase this. you can try to separate the boot and shaft and try to line up the yokes. in my experience this will make the phase worse as the splines are 6-7 degrees apart.. for the record i am speaking of a shaft that has never been apart at the slip joint

I have a 2020 rzr 1000 xp4. Today, part of my tranny case blew out. I think maybe it was a bearing failure. The section on the casing is right above the mounting bracket for the gear selector cable. I replaced all three u-joints and upgraded the carrier bearing and housing a week before and only took it out 3 times before it failed. Do you think re installing the prop shaft in anyway could of caused any sort of binding in the tranny?? Everything spun and felt smooth after the install.
