This looks so much better than Amel boat. It looks like catamaran design.

Well, Sirius is specialised in Deck Saloon Concept - doing nothing else since 1988 (building sailing yachts since 50 years now. I do love the Moody 54 Ds for many reasons but the Sirius concept is slightly different...
@SiriusYachts3 жыл бұрын
The Moody is designed around a "one-floor-level" between saloon and cockpit. That`s not at all the case on Nordship/Regina and on Sirius the concept is: "one-eye-level" between Saloon, galley, interior steering and the crew in the cockpit. In the Moody design you are not stepping up or down at all but need a full standing height Saloon you have to look through from the cockpit. On a Nordship/Regina the cockpit is the highest point of the boat and you need a Sprayhood to be protected, but you need to step down a lot of steep steps into an saloon area with nice views to the side but little forward and non to backwards. The Sirius concept generates a low (less movement in heavy weather) aft cockpit with a sheltering saloon witch is only 1,40m (4feet, 7 inches), so everybody have a clear view above it. The whole cockpit has one level and easy excess to the aft platform. But if one sits down in the cockpit, or in the saloon or at the interior helm or is standing in the galley everything is on "one-eye-level" with the 360° view through the glass windows. That`s a nice connection, communication and security for all on board. To archive this, the Deck Saloon needs to be only half the height as you have a passage way in front of the galley through the saloon which is two steps down (and then only another 2 steps down from there to the cabins and heads). The nice thing is, that standing in the galley you are not only able to see out but you are on eye-level with those sitting in the saloon or cockpit and have something to brace yourself on both sides if you have to stand there, cook or pass through in rough weather conditions...

Well, it`s right as he said: the only one with a "one-floor-level" between saloon and cockpit. That`s not at all the case on Nordship and on Sirius the concept is: "one-eye-level" between Saloon, galley, interior steering and the crew in the cockpit. @@SiriusYachts its a real pitty that your biggest boat its the 40’, I want to buy the Moody DS54 by the size, your 40 its a bit small for me, but I love how you build your boats, quality its outstanding
@SiriusYachts3 жыл бұрын
@@piksmaft Thank you very much for the compliment! I´d love a Sirius 48 DS as well, please :-), but if we believe the many testing magazines she already offers the equivalent interior space of a 47-48. But honestly, there will be a larger Sirius once...maybe sooner than later as we already had some meetings about it and are working on first studies...but we do still wonder (why and) where you will need more space. The 40 already features 3 spacious double staterooms, two heads and the workshop. Apart from waterline length for more hull speed we are still searching for additional rectifications for going bigger. Maybe a dingy garage instead of the davits, but this will waiver the possibility of a luxurious aft cabin? … or three instead of 2 of the 3 cabins big enough to be master cabins? …what would you like to gain with the extra space?
