I dont think you could say that to Bob Dylan 😅😊😅😊😅. Im having a bad day on top of a bad week but that made me laugh out loud. Listening to the song im glad now you're going home made it in. But Lindseys and Stevies talent is so evident - even in how they collaborate and compromise. Im so grateful they could work together so well even as they were hurting (all 5) because THANK YOU for the wonderful music!

For anyone watching this in the future, while I can't tell you which is more faithful to the book or not, I can tell you to listen to the radio show X-Minus 1 episode called Nightfall. I heard that first and I always loved that episode.

Save yourself from self-inflicted pain and just read the original short story. Some may still enjoy this even though it has almost no relation to Asimov's masterpiece. The bottom line is always....would you have paid to see this film. Not me.

As if in accordance to the 12/24 thousand year disaster cycle this planet goes through. Interestingly this movie killed the book, the hair cuts are a laugh. Asimov - clever guy.

Ugh, what a bunch of unwatchable cringe. You know how there are people today who sometimes romanticize the 80s and the 90s? Very often they idolize the movies from those decades. But, I often think that they either have very bad memory, or may not have lived there, so they do not remember the amounts of poor quality, cringe inducing film and tv we had back in that day. Of course if you only watch the successful , well made movies you'll get an impression that things in the 80s were all excellent. Nothing could be further from the truth. Honestly.

The only common thing between this ''movie'' and Isaac Asimov's Nightfall is the title. If the producers took any sort of inspiration from the book, they were really, really high on something. Maybe the movie is good, but nothing to do with the book it pretends as the inspiration... what a shame...

😑 yeah, Stevie why don't you show me the chart of the song you wrote? No? It's all right there on the drapes you wrote on last night when you were as high as an alley cat? Well that was fun, now we are going to paint a landscape!🤗 Stevie, do you have your color palette and brushes ready? No, Stevie....a LandSCAPE, were not singing LandSLIDE again🤧

read the story in High School. back in the 70s. As a budding math and science guy I enjoyed it a lot, having just started calculus, and did astronomy stuff. The idea of discovering gravity and celestial mechanics was interesting

"We are still on the surface of things. All our history, our progress, is nothing. It's possible that nothing important has yet been said, or even understood. It's possible." Shakespeare himself could scarcely have done better. It's worth suffering through the entire movie to savor this moment - even though I myself never seemed to suffer. 🤔 😊

Well, maybe Shakespeare _could_ have done better - but I could well believe Sir Francis Bacon expressing this sentiment easily enough. 😉

"You can´t change that because its beautiful." That's a truth in its own right. Writing lyrics is not about making sense in the first place. Find words that sound good when you sing them. Think about the meaning later. Not saying that the meaning is not important, but the flow has a higher priority.

Imo Lindsey had a point before he brought up "the rules" of writing, very stupid thing to say and he must've known it would rile Stevie up. Stevie and FM in general would not be so magical if they had stuck to conventions, and trying to box Stevie in like that would ruin her poetry. The way he phrases that part of the conversation suggests he's criticising her storytelling rather than offering a helpful suggestion, which is where he lost her and why she started to become defensive. She's one of the best songwriters of all time and has every right to respond in this way to her bandmate telling her she should follow the rules, so some of these comments are puzzling.
