Hello, we listen to the CC audiobooks through the Books app and set the playback speed to .75x. It ends up being the perfect speed for us to process what they're saying, and it actually sounds like the appropriate talking speed since they talk very fast in the original recordings! I love your channel, thanks for sharing all that you do! :)

Great idea! Right now we listen to it on our Yoto Player but I may look at switching so that we can adjust the playback speed. Thanks!

What a productive day! I really appreciate how you’ve added in the bits about your meal prep and the breakfast/lunch prep. It is a careful dance to keep everyone fed, clothed, and educated, and as a ND mom I need to continue finding ways to support myself in this dance. Your ideas were great! Hope you all continue to have a great school year! ❤️

You find a lot of good resources 😊 I just subbed because there are a lot of good suggestions in the couple videos I have watched. I am an overplanner too and we just get through whatever we can and keep going if we want to or stop when we feel like we have done enough. We do a more year round approach, just stopping when we need to due to life. It was a game changer when I surrendered to that mindset. You're great at finding resources and providing resources is really our job. If I try to actually schedule every single resource I find I also stress myself out and I dont want to feel that way through this education journey. They dont stop learning when they turn 18! Fostering a love of learning is what's important, and you're doing that so take a deep breath because you're doing great.

I acted as her buddy because I really didn’t feel like she could have done it all on her own. I made copies of all of the memos from the book (which took forever and was super annoying 🤣). I recommend using a big white board so you can keep track of all of your findings throughout the process. Also perhaps having some books on hand about ecoli would have been helpful for us.

I forgot to ask, do you think the comic art is good? I have looked at it a few times but never taken the plunge. She loves to draw comics and does them all the time so I wondered if there was anything useful it contained that could add to the experience.
@TheMommaLibrarian9 күн бұрын
I will try to make a flip through of it so you can see what’s in it compared to what she’s done already.
@maggiepanning356Күн бұрын
My son did it was he was ten and while he liked having comic art as a subject for him it was a bit too simple for him personally. So, if your daughter is already fairly advanced in her comic art it might not add much. I think it’s well done though for kids wanting to get into drawing their own comics.

I do compare but it’s not a huge deal with my kids. I keep a note on my phone of everything I get them and include price I paid and an emoji to add it to a category. So I use one for games, toys, clothes, shoes, books, building bricks, magnetic toys, video games, blankets, rocks, and from Santa. I do the same for stockings. So they both get roughly the same total price, same types of gifts, and same number. It really helps control the impulse buying. And if I go over I’ll save it for Easter or my daughter’s February birthday.
