I just had a c section on June 14,2024. I was scared because I don’t know what to expect. It’s very hard to get in bed and out of bed. Breastfeeding is hard because the abdominal is so painful. I do side line breastfeeding but my son is having hard time latching on. My Dr. advice that I need a c section because he was big and broad shoulders blade. I don’t have no choice did it. I was scared and trembling. It was a choice for a safety delivery from me and baby.

If you think your feet are big you should try being a size 15 like me.

I am on day 2 and feel rough as I have paracetamol that's all and omg my back is in so much pain I had a spinal I do have a cough too 😞

great video molly when our son was born 5 years ago we had a changing mat upstairs and down stairs , by 6 weeks our son was on 6 oz feeds as he was so hungry so breastfeeding would of been exhausting for my wife and he outgrew his moses basket by 6 weeks ,but the video has given me and my wife ideas for when we have another baby

I’m a week in, have had 3 normal births, no stitches or anything, ended up having an emergency c section with this one 😫 so been very different for me regarding recovery, used to being bk on my feet straight away, this videos been really helpful, I thjnk I’m coping ok, but know not to fool myself and am also setting my alarm for painkillers to keep on top of it. It’s been a crazy month for us, my daughter was also pregnant, had her baby 4 weeks before me and ended up having a C-section, so iv had her to ask for tips aswel, couldn’t write how this year has been for us both, but babies are here safely so all worth it 💗💙

Ladies - get prunes to prevent or treat constipation - highly recommending the M & S ones. Best wishes to all.

Just found you today and we are due roughly the same time, although I'm being induced on Monday. I'm looking forward to following your motherhood journey

As an ex midwife I would suggest that you need more maternity pads. I good help is in the first 24 hours you tend to need to change your pad every 2 hours, and then every 3/4 hours after this. The first pad the hospital usually provide as the midwife will put it on for you after checking down there. So I would suggest taking a whole pack of maternity pads as well as pads and always pants you have :) This is slightly less after a caesarean, but most women are surprised how many they need. I'd also suggest more than 2 sleepsuits in each size, most babies (unless very very large babies of over 10lb) fit into newborn/first size, and depending on the baby, they can be sick or poo/wee on their clothes, so i would suggest 3/4 in newborn and then stick with the 2 in 0-3 just in case they are much bigger. Same for vests, you'll want 3/4 in newborn and then stick with 2 in 0-3 in case. Hope that helps :) Maybe take paracetamol in case the midwives can't get to you in time on the ward and you're in pain :) some snacks for after labour? many women find they're starving after their body has essential run a marathon, and overnight the ward won't have any food, other than tea and toast. Maybe change for parking/vending machine? x

I've had a similar week with emergency dental appointments, christmas etc and it really does get you down. Just know your baby only really needs your love, warmth and food! If it helps - when I had the midwives and HV come to our house for the boys 5 day review they said they had to check our bedroom to see where they were sleeping and said to avoid cots too close to any windows or radiators. Love the dress x
