The max speed oscillation is patched out in these levels, so the maximum speed is actually 36 and can be held by just holding the direction no matter whether you're on the ground or in the air.

Es ist und bleibt beeindruckend, was die Kaizo-Runner da schaffen. Dieser TAS-Run ist fix, aber kaum schneller als Sakayas Bestzeit. Und natürlich: Vielen Dank, @Morilli

I'm guessing that Mario cannot jump up anywhere except for where the bricks are, because there are invisible coin blocks everywhere else? Otherwise you'd just be able to easily jump after passing the brick to get over those Munchers and Spinies.

The game doesn't immediately re-fetch the statistics after beating the level. Apparently the real clear rate at the time of clear was 1/7709.

this kind of rom hack that has its own ost made up of remixes of iconic songs is my favourite kind. it adds more personality to it than just "beat as fast as you can or die"

I don't really; I can see mario's hitbox offscreen as well as that of all other sprites, but apart from that it's a lot of trial and error and checking the position values.
