Was horrible, he's ok though, he was just very shocked, stood still for a while with his heart beating, i won't go in that water again, ill just ride past it. Luckily that happened just before the pub stop, so he had an hour to chill with me off his back eating grass, and was fine for the second half of the ride.

I was in the navy in my early 20s when he was running. I can place where I was watching back all of his races. I had persuaded some non-betting mates to get on for the Hennessay. I was in sickbay with torn ligaments for the RSA, got my mate to go into town and get my bet on. Had an even larger bet on the Gold Cup, watched it in Plymouth and was counting my cash with three to go. The following year I picked out Mr Mulligan at 20s, had the fear as the big grey loomed up behind. Felt slightly guilty as I saw him hit the wall and roared MM home. One thing I had forgotten was how horrific his fall was at Kempton. How fortunate the horse and all of us were. I'll keep my eye out for Ittack.

Thats a great story, I love hearing from passionate racing fans who love the horses as much as i do, One Mans Henessy win, was the day I got my first tattoo, and I always think of that, and his death, was literally the only time in my life, I didn't have time off to watch it as I'd just started a new job, bit for some reason, I looked at the clock and minutes later , I felt sick to my stomach, and I thought 'he's dead!' Was like a sixth sense, then 20 minutes later I got a phone call, and was so upset, I was sent home, the following day, I went to Aintree, but my other favourite Suny Bay was running in the Grand National on heavy ground with 12st and I was worried sick .

Its a cracking ride, the head cam videos are being done this afternoon. And yes, I go very efull on with my colours, very frustrating when I can't get the whole lot in a particular colour. Our green look is only a half look, as i couldn't get the boots, and bridle. Still like it though

It was, I've not long been in a new area with really good varied hacking, and everytime I do a new route, I wear my camera.
