Rev. Fr. Felix's Christmas homily at St. Mary's Catholic Parish emphasized the importance of moderation and family unity, offering a timely reminder during the holiday season. In a world often marked by excess and division, his call for moderation resonates deeply. He encouraged families to find balance in their celebrations, prioritizing togetherness over materialism. The essence of Christmas, he noted, lies not in lavish gifts but in the love and harmony shared among family members. His message also touched on the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation, urging parishioners to heal any rifts within their families. By fostering an environment of peace and mutual respect, families can better reflect the true spirit of Christmas, embodying the values of compassion, humility, and unity. Rev. Fr. Felix’s words serve as a reminder that Christmas is not only a time of celebration but also an opportunity for reflection and strengthening family bonds...

As Christmas approaches, businesses in Kitgum are facing significant challenges as testified here by some individuals. The region, still recovering from years of conflict and economic instability, has seen a sharp decline in local business activity. With many residents living abroad or in urban centers, those who return for the holiday season are urged to support the local economy by shopping locally and investing in businesses that have endured hardship. The ripple effect of supporting local businesses will not only provide much-needed revenue for entrepreneurs but also create jobs and foster community development. This situation is a direct result of serving a regime that was undemocratically elected, which has contributed to economic stagnation and limited opportunities. It is essential for returning residents to recognize the importance of sustaining the local economy and contributing to its growth during this festive period...

Sr. Mary Grace Angelina Achiro’s Christmas message, A Season of Grace and Joy, resonates as a heartfelt reminder of the true essence of Christmas. Her emphasis on grace and joy calls us to reflect on the transformative power of love, unity, and compassion during this sacred season. Christmas is not merely a time for celebration but also an invitation to share God’s blessings with the less fortunate, bringing hope to those in despair. Sr. Mary Grace’s message inspires us to embrace humility, emulate Christ’s selflessness, and renew our commitment to acts of kindness. In a world burdened by challenges, her words encourage us to be beacons of peace, forgiveness, and gratitude. As we gather with loved ones, let us remember the marginalized and extend grace to all, ensuring that the joy of Christmas shines brightly in every heart. May her wisdom guide us into a season of purpose and fulfillment...

Where in the Bible are we told that Mary and Joseph and the entire family, disciples, apostles and Jesus Christ himself celebrated his birthday? We are either trying to insinuate that we are more Christians than or pure pagans celebrating the birthday of pagan sun gods Tamuz of the ancient world

The call by Minister Onek to embrace the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Lamwo raises critical questions about its feasibility under the self-styled President Museveni’s regime. While the PDM could empower grassroots communities with tailored development, its implementation in a corrupt system lacks integrity. Resources meant for such programs often disappear into the hands of political elites, leaving the targeted beneficiaries-mostly rural, impoverished citizens-empty-handed. Museveni's government has long been criticized for using development schemes as tools for political patronage rather than genuine empowerment. Furthermore, the erosion of religious leadership in advocating for justice exacerbates the plight of ordinary citizens. Instead of acting as moral stewards, many religious leaders align with the regime, abandoning their prophetic duty to speak truth to power. Their silence betrays their flock, who continue to suffer under systemic oppression. Without accountability, both PDM and religious institutions risk perpetuating suffering rather than fostering progress in a place like Lamwo...
