Great, interesting & informative video - really enjoyed it. I'm not so sure though that the TV manufacturers are gonna jump back on board for glasses based 3D any time soon, I think the most viable option for future 3d TV would be using the "holographic" screen tech from Looking Glass Factory alongside a speedy, accurately trained AI engine to generate the required additional views. I wouldnt be surprised if Apple swallowed up LGF, with their resources they could be the first to bring a worthwhile glasses free "spatial" TV to market. I'm assuming the good "AI conversions" Jack mentions are our EYEPOP-3D ones, primarily as I don't know of anyone else doing them but it should be made clear these arent really "AI" conversions, these are handcrafted conversions that uses AI for initial depth estimation, but not for the conversion... actually the same use of AI as many of the fx studios working on Hollywood blockbusters.

Sadly, I think the projector manufactures are not putting 3-D in their newest models. You have to double check before purchasing.

Many manufacturers have it or are adding it back :D Hisense added it in their latest lineup of USTs, and AWOL launched a lifestyle projector brand called valerion with 3D that is topping kickstarter right now with included 3D glasses.

I am in agreement with the 50s being the weakest decade for film. It just has nothing I enjoy besides a few fun monster movies (SOME are fun but so many are very very slow). Anyways the best decade is 1965 - 1975!

Didn't see your note about the sale in the stream till it was already going for an hour, most of it went quick. Page 4 repeated products from the first 3 pages for me and wouldn't load right. Don't know if it was that way from the start but I wasn't seeing things you mentioned would be on there.

It was not that way at the start, I think traffic just picked up. Plus stuff sold out pretty damn fast. Some of it within less than a minute.

Thanks Ryan, I'm a big fan of the 3-D Archive and it was great to hear from Jack. I have ALL their releases, and what an experience it is to be able to watch these films projected on the big screen. I appreciate all the hard work Bob Furmanek and company do to preserve these 3-D films giving folks a chance to enjoy projecting them at home. I was so excited about your release of BWANA DEVIL, the first 3-D film in color. I look forward to all your upcoming releases. The 50's films are my favorites because there is such a wide variety of genres.

@Jim: About that Panasonic hack. When the wrong region message comes up, press Stop and then the Top menu button. Mind you, this doesn't work with every labels discs. I am Region B and this works with my UB824 with Region A Criterions (from 2011 onwards) and Arrow. Doesn't work with Shout or Kino Lorber. So i still own a cheap Region Free player.

Just give them a try and synapes sueing Everybody who's in the same industry as them over a movie. That's been out for years. Regarding the VS sale, they've had weekend sales go past the 1st before, I don't think new Partner titles will post on the 1st. They'll run the sale as usual, take the site offline for a day or two, then come back with a truncated Dec Partner month.

$22 per ticket? If my theater was that high I wouldn't go. I'm in a major southern metro and my Cinemark matinee price is 7.50. And they have pre-11am showtimes throughout the week. I just saw Beetlejuice recently and me and person I went with had the theater all to ourselves. Do those AMCs even have the reclining seats? My Cinemark does.

We have reclining seats for sure. And yeah... $22 is high. I think the matinee and AVERAGE prices are like $18 ish? But $22 was what they were showing when we went. And the more popular movies just get more expensive. It is beyond off-putting.

Wow, shocking news you might not subscribe next year. If they lose a long time supporter like you imagine how many others feel the same way. I think they need to up the benefits of subscription, including early site access to major sales, and possibly increasing the sub discount to greater than 50%, and maybe throwing in more exclusive slips and physical bonuses throughout the year.
