Great Video! CASE and New holland offer 6 way on the 4.2,5,7 ton mini excavators. I do enjoy the decibel difference in volvo compare to other machines

Was distance from your dealer the main reason why you switched from Kubota to Volvo? Ive got a 057-4 and looking to add another machine in a few months. Volvo wants to get me into this machine but it doesn't seem as nice inside the cab. Curious to learn why the switch.

Distance to deal was a lot of it, the kx57-5 is a very nice machine. I personally think this cab is more to my liking then the Kubota, less going on but lots of storage. also this machine weighs about 600lbs more so i get more lifting capacity for the tail swing. But to be honest I also would have been very happy with the Kubota so if your happy with your dealer on kubota I would say there is not strong reason to make the switch.

@villageearthwright gotcha. The Kubota has more counter weight out the back. I figured it would handle a tiltrotator better as well? How do you find your new volvo with the extra weight in the front being as its almost a zero tail swing?

@@evanziemer1967 I luckily got to try out a 57-5 at a show just this last weekend set up with the saem 206b. I think my volvo handles it better even with the reduced tail swing. The 57 handled it fine for sure but I could feel a little bit more bounce when i reached out that i don't feel on my ecr58. Although some of that may be partly because the kubota just moves a bit faster.

I just replaced them with 1/2 bolts, i didn't like how the pin interacted with the engcon hose.

Any chance you can give the specs on the auto greaser? I have a kx040-4 also. Model number and all that. Thanks a ton.

Hey, sorry for the late response, it's a Graco Mini. You can find them online but getting all the distribution blocks set up is the hard part. You're best off working with a local auto grease specialist to build you a kit.

What did you pay for your tilt rotator setup?
@villageearthwright

About 32k for the head and controls, coupler and such and then about 15k on buckets and grapple and such

I think the EC204 would have been the better choice. It's always better to have the smaller or smallest tiltrotator on the bigger excavator. The machine has to boss around the tiltrotator, not the other way around. I see a lot of people putting the 204 on 2,5t machines. In this case the 204 is to much for them.
@villageearthwright
@villageearthwright Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right that the 204 would have been a better fit for my machine, but I really wanted the EC oil which they only do on the 206 and so far I honestly have been fine with the extra weight and I actually might miss the extra power that I would’ve lost by going down to the 204. I would like to get a 2.5 ton excavator and I definitely plan to put an O2 on it.

Great review, they are harder than they look aren't they! Talking in front of the camera is still something I'm still not fully comfortable with either. That remote throttle is brilliant, I wish all plate compactors had them. And I see what you mean about the vibration dampening - looks really good. I'll have to see if I can find one in the UK to try out.

Thank you for the video. I have a similar kubota kx40. How much approx did the Engcon overall cost and do you feel that it's worth it?
@villageearthwright
@villageearthwright 2 жыл бұрын
I paid 47k with the controllers and the ec oil along with buckets, ripper, and grapple. I know it seems like a lot but it has been worth it to me, I’m already considering a second set up.
