Very cool Su! I only tried one Latvian ration. It was older, but it was awesome. Yours looks the same. The wooden spoons, I do not care for. I taste the spoon, more than the food, LOL. Good looking components and meal, my friend. I think you ate well. Peace, John. I hope all are well. ATB.

They should be clearer about the contents of only one heating element. I bought this hoping I didn’t have to bring my stove. Happy I found out before leaving.

Wow really, that would have been a nasty shock. Apparently you can eat these after rehydrating with cold water but I don't think I would like to eat it prepared that way. You can also boil the water directly in the bag over a naked flame with these ,meal pouches. They hold up to flames. I tested it once and it worked.

@@EatsTreatsMREs Walmart by checkout counters in the impulse buys. Dollar tree carries them also. At my dollar tree they're kept in the office so you have to ask for them. But they'll happily look for any color you want

Very cool Su. Nice looking ration. Things are even worse, getting food from overseas. Just so you know, why foreign rations are not shown from stateside much. Customs is killing us. I found these in the US@ 5COL survival. These seem to be the only authentic ones. Commercial reviews complain of a lemon taste. I was in the USCG. Barley sweets are NOT just some sugar placebo in lieu of food. They are excellent for sea sickness. Btdt Chris Kavanaugh

Glad you said “Heating tablets” and not Hexamine, it’s illegal to buy, sell or own Hexamine. You need an EPP license (Explosives Precursors and Poisons) to even have it in your own home, it’s easy enough to get the license. It’s just a case of applying for it and paying the fee, I don’t think it cost me more than £40. Your quite safe with the ones you’ve hot there, they are Methenamine I think. I’ve just got a shed load of Hexi so its better to have the license and cover your back.

Very cool Su. These are one of the staples in the U.S. MRE community. I still do not like the looks of the new packaging, but everyone says they still taste normal. I've not tried one yet. I hope they improved the FRH'S, LOL. Good looking meal. I hope you enjoyed most. Peace, John.

Couldn't you, that sucks. You may be right I will take a look. Gona do it again when its dried out so I can go the whole way instead of turning around. Just brought a frame bag so that I can take rations on my bike easier.

My entire left foot went into a puddle. The bikes made for it and I can always clean up. Was a good ride, will be doing it again when its dryer so I can do it all. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Great haul! I order from there as well. I picked up quite a few Spanish l7nch and dinner and 1 breakfast. For me, it was buy 1 get 1 half price. Ordered a bunch of other goodies too.
