OMG Don! What an incredible recording of our sun and planet's unbridled beauty. No one stops and specifically looks, and is thankful, for what we are blessed with! There are no words to describe it. I will mention the old saying that first came to my mind: Red sky in morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailor's delight. For the green hues at certain points, I can only offer a guess. Since blue and yellow make green, perhaps the sun's rays were seen through or blue waters and atmosphere. I might be way off on it, though. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to record and share so many things, a long with the opal! Blessings from Alabama ❤️

There's a clear and strong inversion layer trapping a lot of pollution and dust. It's really cool how the sun seems to set into the surface of the inversion rather than the ocean itself! This makes me want to take another stab at reproducing a similar effect with liquid nitrogen. Too bad the price per liter has gone up so much!
@george9412222 сағат бұрын
Yes, there was a multi-layered inversion. It will be very interesting to see the results of your experiment!

Thank you! I was actually going to ask if you could maybe mention the time of sunset. The time is a good indicator of the strength of the refraction and I've always wanted to know what it was in super refraction conditions. Where I live, the water rarely gets cold enough.
@george9412222 сағат бұрын
Thank you! The predicted sunset time is 18:57. The last bits of the sun disappeared at 19:04.

I’m pretty sure I just witness the sun sinking in the ocean. They literally created an illusion with 3 different shadings. Omg I know why did that from a distance you see the bottom

Hi This is a really cool video But I have proven that Earth Science is false by the phenomenon of the sun, moon and stars reflecting in the ocean or lake. I have confirmed it again by using the phenomenon of a 1821 ft building reflecting in the lake. I am sure that there is no one on this planet who can refute my video.
@george941226 күн бұрын
It is not a reflection, it is a refraction. it is a mirage and it is explained here home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~lehn/_Papers_for_Download/NZ79.pdf

I'm watching this beautiful animal and I couldn't help but notice; he or she's lying on top of a bed of kelp. It would make sense that this mitigates his or her risk from predation. Can anyone who knows speak to this observation? I'm such a dork I know.
@george9412220 күн бұрын
As you could see in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKmWlmaMdsmagqM there are quite a few sea otters in kelp. They are using it to stay put, versus drifting with the currents. I do not believe otters are attacked often. They have too much fur.
