Hi. I'm Eliot Wien from NYC. This song is also included on a Rhino Records Collection called BEATLESONGS. The reason it's part of this collection is because this song was included on many Beatle Bootlegs because everyone thought it was The Beatles. This song and Have You Heard The Word by The Fut(Maurice Gibb) were both thought to be The Beatles and included on many Beatle Bootlegs.

I saw them in Troon, Ayrshire, they were on a country wide tour. I’d never heard of them but happened to see an article in the paper about them, how they were taking London by storm. Quickly bought tickets and became an instant fan.

Completely unrelated, but revolutionary. (No pun intended). The platter is warped & wonkey: but the LP isn't! Flat as a pancake. It's usually the other way round.

Mr Iron is actually a smart and honest interviewee. And the song is better than Bill Haley's

So here he was taking the mick, do rightly, out of the whole rolling stones dropout"we cant talk properly"inarticulacy crap from which we have been made to suffer since....spot on, but of course since its thw trurh, rather than pandering to our enforced slovenly post 1945 lifestyle, hardly anyone is aware.of it.... Another reason Reform UK 0:36 ..mighr do so well

Just good clean fun. I adored them from the fifties. I wore out my tapes and replaced them with CD's.

Who in 2024 is writing songs with anything like the wit of F&S?
Thus truley was a greengrass song. Claude could have sang this after outsmarting blaketon

Interesting as this is listed as a comedy version of the song, when it's not, it's a comic singing a song.

Is this a case of the Mandela effect? We all apparently remember it as “hand up your sticks”, but not at any stage does he actually say it. Not once. Even the record label doesn’t remember!

When my father was alive he bought this 45 version, he absolutely loved it & me being about 10 or 11 learnt the song off by heart. What a great all round entertainer Peter Sellers was. Died far to young Sadly missed Charlie Sharp
