It's oriented towards Huawei's in-house IP chip Kirin, because of the cloud edge Gen AI between Huawei server chips Kunpeng server chip, Ascend AI chip and local hardware Kirin chip and driver is accessible for this distro. Qualcomm controls the drivers, Huawei has to work with them, US May 2024 ban made things harder, compatibility issues with the new system itself.

It is indeed impressive, anyone with even a little knowledge of computer science knows how hard it is to develop an os. There are still a lot to to though. First as you mentioned application! They have to convince other major companies to develop a version for them. Second icons and shapes are still like emui from 2020 still old and not appealing. But overall it's impressive that they never gave up

I dont know is it only me but i notice a slight delay when opening camera app. Like when you click it, it shows a black screen instead of just showing the camera. I hope they optimize the OS because its super annoying.
