This movie came out of nowhere. My wife used to work at a local video store that specialized in hard to find movies. She had to bring home movies to watch each week so we saw so many. This one looked just okay but I was sucked in immediately. It’s one of my favorite movies. I think it’s close to perfect if not perfect. The violence is more insane than a Tarantino movie. When it happens it’s so damn quick and brutal. I watched Brawl and really like it but it’s my least favorite of hos movies. Which just means it’s the lesser of three great movies. Dragged Across Concrete impressed the hell out of me. I was on edge during most of the movie. I Iike the little things he refused to cut like Vince Vaughn slowly eating that sandwich. The bad guys are truly despicable people. And cowards when they have to face Mel. The two cops could have taken them out if it hadn’t been for the hostage. Mel says fuck it and rams that bulletproof van and one of those idiots actually pops his head out saying he needs medical attention and gets a well-deserved head shot. The bad guys are so evil that there is no redemption for them. They cut off a man’s balls and killed a woman with a newborn baby who was going through post-partum depression. It was satisfying to see them get theirs. That last part is sad for his wife and kid. I don’t know how she’s going to make it in a brick of gold while Tory Kittles’ character is living like a prince I just wish the wife and kid got enough to afford their medical bills and get into a better area. That’s my only pre own with the ending. But this is tied with Bone for me. I cant wait to see what he puts out next.

I went to the opera in Barcelona a month ago and decided to put on a gray suit; after all, it wasn't very late and I knew a tuxedo would be too much in this day and age. Since I didn't want to look "too business" while still having a gray suit on, I decided to go for a paisley ascot even though I feared that would be too casual and oh my... I was surprised by the fact that most men were not wearing even a jacket. Lots of t-shirts and even some sandals and shorts. Our society has dressed down a lot, but I certainly didn't expect to see this at the opera house too.
