Only downside to this video is that it's difficult to enjoy very low resolution videos. When trying to view the grain description discussed, you really cannot see it. Any way to run this video thru a resolution enhancing machine to improve the quality and enjoyment of watching this video?

I just got a hand drill today, I ordered it online last week. It's a tool which always interested me and I've been building up a toolkit recently so I bought a double pinion geared kind. I've got to drill out some holes in a plank and some holes in a pvc pipe to make something and a few holes in the wall to put some anchors for putting hooks up, so as soon as I get paid on Wednesday I'm buying the wood, pipe, drill bits and a stud finder and I'm getting to work 😎

It looks like it would be just as good if you bolted it directly to the closed stand of a machine

A very old right bevel broad axe came into the sharpening shop today. Looks like it was found whilst metal detecting. Guessing colonial era. Very worn, from lots of use, but the steel is still good. Was pretty sure I knew it's intended purpose already, but this gave me a bit more insight into the specific end use, and edge geometry that I will need to restore, to make it serviceable once again.. Thanks!

I thought the directions on the first laminated sheet (stand, saw mount, motor mount) were excellent. The second laminated sheet for installing the rails is confusing. sawstop sent me an extra set of rails (by mistake) and it was really hard to tell the front/rear rails are different and where to install. (not numbered) The fact the directions are the same for contractor and cabinet saws doesn't help.

If you use the Domino-Adapter, you can use the DF500 bits with your DF700 an use the whole range of bits. So no need for the DF500…

My problem with your amount of steps is that you want this whole procedure to be really fast - think if I have to sharpen blade again and again or different ones. No wonder many of woodworkers go with hand sharpening with a simple honing guide & a simple angle jig and diamond plates. (using finger pressing on alternate sides for camber). It goes much faster. I have a Tormek myself. But sometimes I find it cumbersome, fill the water, grind the wheel - rough vs smooth, and then use the jigs in a very particular way.

why don't you check for the squareness of the blade while in the SES-77 jig using the inside of the stone ?

A question. I have a true temper TB2. According to think so, because of the angled bladyou it is a right bevel axe, but it has a bend just forward from blade.the eye and it also bends to the right. Basically it is a hatchet. What length handle should I put in it? My guess is 14-16”. The eye is1.6 times .6 oval. Should I put an offset handle in it? I don’t think so because of the angled blade.

I have the same Leigh Super jig only super 12 as I only do small stuff. First this was an excellent demo. In regards to most questions I read here most all have the same answer to your problems, READ THE BOOK , READ THE BOOK , READ THE BOOK !!. Yes they are complicated to say the least but once you understand them it’s STILL complicated the first time you change from one dove tail design to another. Most every problem I’ve had is solved buy going back and reading through the section or even the whole thing over and over. You’ll find yourself saying, Oh HOW DID I MISS THAT !

There seems to be no better industry than separating hobbyists from their money. I get that all that hardware makes it easier to connect and disconnect your hoses. But did you ever just think of a section of hose that sticks out well past the frame with a suitable female port in it? Maybe five dollars worth of parts? It's what I've been using and I fail to see how this is any better.

My Bora edge guide is worthless. It doesn't clamp tight enough so the clamp moves while using it as a router edge guide. I ended up using a board with C clamps as a straight edge.

I like the observation that this was made more as a display piece towards the end of his career. It is stunning and brilliantly designed, but doesn't seem like it would be much fun to actually work out of day to day. A little too perfect for that.

I have a couple of hand drills. One is a breast drill and the second is a small hand drill. It is an old American Manufacturing drill out of Greenfield Mass. I need a chuckle for it. I thought I found one but it is not correct. It is a strange thread size. I am not sure what it is. A 1/2 -20 is too big. Can you help me out. I am not looking for a historical recondition. I don’t really have any wall hangers. I use mine.
