In my humble opinion Spear was right up there with Bob Marley in live shows with socially conscious lyrics , and a band that brought it live every time. Finally, I was at this show and it was one of the best live performances I ever been too and the kicker was it was free ! 😊😊😊 M

Much respect to Bob Marley, no doubt a legend- but for me, i'm all about Burning Spear & the original Black Uhuru. B.U. just had that sinister, hard edge about them. Those live concerts from the early 80's are unmatched in my opinion. Sly, Robbie & Darryl Thompson on lead guitar was 🔥🔥🔥. Check out Shine Eye Gal live in Essen, Germany 1981....

This band is so consistent from tune to tune !! Ed’s great slide guitar work.. Pookies great bass work.. Mikes great rhythm guitar work. and Kelly’s great drumming all add up to one fantastic performance!

I was in the stands during this set. It was my first HFStival. Everyone started bouncing and the stands were literally shaking/bouncing along with everyone. It was a little scary but I was 20 and therefore invincible.

When work sucks, or traffics bad, I like to think about the fact that I live in a time and place where I can spend my nights watching this man play his guitar and sing songs on this screen, and that makes traffic better, and work suck less
