Glad I read the book after I saw the movie, ending in book was much better , i cried when his father saved him. I did like rose unlocking the ghosts in his mind in the movie that was cool

Weirdest film i ever seen and i didn't have a clue about the story beforehand and was watching it late at night randomly and i kept thinking they had murdered someone but when he confess to his wife what happened i was convinced he was lying then googled more about it and was traumatized and now have ptsd when i watch Ned the talking horse and never thought something like this was possible! Im still confused??? ....ill never be tge same 😢

I was a teenager when this movie came out. I was absolutely obsessed with it and Every character in it. The action, the music and that sibling bond. It was only a few years later I found out that it wasn't very popular. So weird to hear critics say it was a forgettable movie, when literally 14 years later I still remember everything in the movie. That's how you know Critics are dumb people.

Let this be a lesson for directors. Here we are 4 years later and no sequel is coming because the ending was bad and future projects for this story will not be green lit . The ending is EVERYTHING to a movie's success. Such a shame.

Literally HALF of the run time of the first half of the movie was exposition. That shit would put anime to shame. Also the engine note of the Huracan that Pierce gets in has a V8 sound, not the V10 it actually has.

Visually amazing and subversive but executed poorly on some fronts. This product is a great example of why a skilled producer/director is needed to make sure a great concept is molded into a great film. The Seth Ickerman team are amazing at doing BIG things with little resources, telling an original story and taking risks, but there is a blatant lack of refinement from a quality producer. Someone needed to step in and show them what does and doesn't work from a story/exhibition/dialogue stand point. They score an A+ with the concept and visuals but end up making a B movie that smells of student film. I prefer a movie to not spoon feed me and let me do my own thinking but their story needs to still TELL a story. It can be a hard line to stand on and all the more reason to have a great head of production step back and force some choices.

Read the comics. There's more substance. There is also an authorized cartoon adaptation on Tubi starring Woody Harrelson, Pete Davidson, John Goodman and Tiffany Haddish.

I LOVED this movie. Really good. Yes slow but worth it. This is the way we wish it could happen. No bad guy no intruding government or other humans. Perfect. Wish we could see the football field ship.

My immediate thoughts were oh this gonna be a quirky comedy but it turned out to be much more than that and it keeps you engaged by deliberately never showing the actor's entire face and the girl that befriended him shows him more than anybody else has showed him in his life and that was interest. Interest as in emotional interest and not just a curiosity.

Why was Brooks in the house dressed up like the killer? What was his purpose for doing that, it confused the hell out of me. This movie is a 4/10.

I just watched this movie yesterday, and I still thinking about this.

Good review. I thought the movie was way too angsty for an adult audience.

They actually planned for it to be the final movie. By 1983 slasher films were losing popularity, and they thought that part 3 only made money due to the 3D gimmick. So they thought that people would only watch it if people knew it was the final one and they couldn’t miss it. They expected some money, but they did expect it to almost have the same profit as the previous entry. Also fun fact: the reason why this film feels so different from Part 3 is that Mancuso wanted this to be a dark horror film as the final entry of the series.

I find that this movie is way better than the original. The original has pretty poor structure with story only happening with the first 10 minutes and last 20 minutes of the movie with nothing happening in between except some admittedly great special effects. It’s a great showcase for Tom Savini using the canvas of the cardboard characters, but this film took that wonky foundation of the original film and made it into a tight film that is entertaining from beginning to end instead of tediously waiting for the cool kills. Now the kills in this movie are not on the same level as the original, I will give it that, but as a slasher film it has way better build up and structure along with a tighter runtime makes this film work really well with building these characters, the plot, and the setting slowly to make the audience more engaged. It also has the best character of the series with Ginny using her smarts to trick Jason. Really vast improvement over the original film and would establish one of the most iconic horror series ever.

You are not matching the tone of this film. You should have started with the 4:3 aspect ratio and explained why. You approach this with a manufactured enthusiasm that I do not appreciate as a person who just experienced this film. I dislike this video.
