Great video! This made me want to read more T.S. Eliot's poems. Some of the points you made in this video reminds me of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, it would be great if you can make a video on that:)

Been working extremely hard lately. Been missing out a lot on my wife and child. Speaking to the Lord inwardly, and teaching my wife and daughter to do the same is one of the ways we keep linked up no matter the distance. Recently, we've planned on any days off we have together to take ourselves out to do something. We've gotta start making a meaning in this terrifying mortal world ocean

working hard for your family is a very admirable thing, but it comes with sacrifices... a huge struggle in life is just finding a balance that makes you happy, and i hope that you can find that balance within your life
@santsipahicentralfloridanews4 күн бұрын
@@chwelik I realized the struggle bit a decade or two ago and lived through it. Now that it's integrated into my life, it's time to let the love, achievement, and companionship of and for my family be realized. It will. God will help us.

I keep trying to make friends, but am often shunned and it leaves me worrying that I'd be betrayed... And often am. My openness has led to me being robbed, taken advantage of, and even attacked on two occasions. All by those friends made and those closest to me. Industrial Society was a mistake, at least in going as far as it has.

The idea that some people think the world doesnt need art is crazy to me. thats simply a world without inspiration.

many things would be so different if it weren't for art - and i think it brings a certain joy, even if it's small!

I felt like the grand-uncle was a tragic character. Very knoledgable, and with a good heart, but ultimately incapable to create a perfect world, because such a world just cannot be created. (I mean even our own world is flawed, and I wonder if you can have light without shadow) In the end he still clings to his believe that pure goodness still exists, and he has traveled trough time and space to find 13 "good" stones. He does not believe that he can use them to create a good world, but maybe someone new, in the form of a descendent can. Grand-Uncle also reminded be of Nietzsche in his design/introduction. Idk if this is relevant, but maybe there was some inspiration to Nietzsches desperate, and uktimately fruitless search for meaning in the world, leading to his insanity. Finally I like how the parakeets represent humanity. As flawed and naive as the towermaster is, these parakeets are even more flawed. They cling to laws without knowing why and can only think about their base desire for food. In a way it was better for them to go back to normalcy at the end. Thanks for the video this really made me think about the film and I like your ideas! Very creative.

loved reading this so much! it's such a detailed film with some really heavy topics, and i think you're right about it being so closely related to Nietzsche and his ideologies... it's truly amazing how much one film can make you ponder in this way... i think we're more like the parakeets than we care to admit sometimes.

@kikis-lounge-room Yeah honestly this is one of my favourite films ever just because it is the closest to what "art" means to me in its essence. Its beautifull animation and music molded into such an interesting plot with so kany possible interpretations and meaning. The abbility to interpret art, and reflect on its meaning and what this means for you is so amazing. Really one of the best films ever.

I think this is such wonderful video!!! You summed up everything so well! Are you going to school for film studies? Also what’s your opinion on Coraline as a text? Lots of questions but I so rarely get to discuss with film KZbinrs I thought I’d take the chance !

i predominantly studied literature and i suppose film falls under that category at times, but i think a lot of it is just pure passion for texts tbh. i loveeeee Coraline but i feel like a lot of love and attention has already been given to it, i also don't want to reinvent the wheel when someone else has done a perfect job themself! i really appreciate your kind words, they mean a lot!!!
