Hi! This is a fantastic tutorial and it really helped me so much with adding seam allowance to my patterns. Question: do you have a tutorial on how to grade a pattern with seam allowance up and down sizes? Eg, I draft my patterns in size UK10/EU Medium according to my grade plan. I use the move tool, but I would love to see how you do it. Thanks!

Why was the seam allowance also added on the center cut line?
@PatternLabLondon26 күн бұрын
It’s a personal preference. I sample my basic blocks in halves to save fabric. It’s just a fitting technique.

It needs to work with other types of interfacing too like tear away and water soluble. It would be good to be able to print on wadding for quilting and I hope you can still print on paper.
@PatternLabLondon26 күн бұрын
You can certainly still print on paper. I haven’t tried the other fabrics you mentioned ironed though. Let us know if it works?

Once you're happy record your measurement? YOU DIDN'T EVEN SAY HOW TO LOOK AT THE NUMBERS CORRECTLY
@PatternLabLondon26 күн бұрын
Ah, sorry I thought that would based on the tape measure used. I would say measure something you know to be 10cm with the tape measure. That will give you a good understanding of your tape measure.

Hi Ralph, creating a zip brush doesn't work with 'Art brush' but it works with 'Pattern brush' on my Adobe Illustrator. If I do it with art brush, and draw a line with a pen tool it just creates two long vertical lines

Thank you for the indepth tutorial however I have a question. Aren't we supposed to do some contouring for the lowered neckline at the crossover? I'm also looking for a tutorial on corsets / bustier (with well defined cups, I hope you understand what I'm referring to 😅)

Using the alt key with the scroll wheel of the mouse also allows to zoom in and out, and it's faster than ctrl +

You could even add the new dimensions tool, it's quite handy for measuring lines and labelling it at the same time.
