Against the London you usually don’t take the Bishop on g3 (with your Bishop) as you don’t want to open lines against your king. The same thing here, I guess.

When you played Nb1, Ne4! looks better. The point being if then ...Nf4, Nf6+ gxf, Bxf4 although I'm not sure if White's really better after in that position, as Black has ...g5+...f5 next.

After 11... Ne4 12 Qd3 there is 12 ... Nc4! (instead of 12 ... Ng3? opening the h-file and getting mated) exchanging the annoying white-squared bishop :)

Thanks! I'm on somewhat of a winning streak and getting nervous now. Hope it doesn't play too much in my quality of play, we'll see. I'll probably be in the zone once playing and forget about all that though. Got the congress this weekend, and will try to play some more rapid online the weekend after that. Thanks for following and providing me with extra motivation!!! Must, reach, 2000! :D

Hi Thanks for the video I play the St George in the London OTB 25 minute no increment League you get surprisingly good positions in quick games from it and frequently a significant time advantage My rating is about the same as yours

Funny thing, I did actually play a Blitz game after this (and won) but didn't get to record it so it didn't go live here. I didn't get a Scandi anyway... ahh.. maybe next time! :)
@iliaspergantis70317 жыл бұрын
interesting game david, probably the most important mistake he made(before blundering) was exchanging queens, Nd2 or Ke1 seem much more solid the sacrifices don't seem to work for you.
@davidkramaley94337 жыл бұрын
Yes, if he doesn't trade queens I have to play Qf8 and my position is very passive so that he most likely leans a little more and I crumble/blunder/lose! I didn't see the Rg7+ sacrifice, i only considered all the others I think. Rg7+ was scary but I think Qf8 temporarily halts it. You are 100% right though, after the Queen trade he under-estimated my Bishop's pair compensation which paid off handsomely with a tactic. I do need to pick up some more theory in these lines... I obviously mucked up the middle-game continuation of my brief opening knowledge :)

8. 0-0! with idea: Bb3, h3, Re1, Qe2 (d2), Rad1 preparing Nd5 or in some special situations you also can push f2-f4
@davidkramaley94337 жыл бұрын
GMLevan thanks! I definitely need to study the hyper accelerated dragon and become more familiar with the ideas, it's so different from the Rossolimo which I try for!

Small promo, if anyone has this book on Chessable, records and shares a video beating my score, you will win a prize. I got 8 in a row I believe!
@100nacional1007 жыл бұрын
good game. apparently you played the opening perfectly. tactics happen
@davidkramaley94337 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I should have seen that tactic though; i put it down to starting to rush by that point as i spent a lot of time out of the opening (unusual for me I think!). Also first time I've seen that, next time it will be on my radar :D As GM Colovic said, it appears unsound anyway, I should have just taken advantage of it better, instead i let him justify it!

What is a good average centipawn loss for 10 min blitz because sometimes when I play it is between 8-12 and other times its 30-80+. I'm about 1200 on chess.com blitz

Hello, I'm learning how to play.. I noticed possible Knight fork (around time 7:47 in this video).. with Nh5 then Ng3 with the help from your Queen moving to h1 pinning the Bishop on f1.. but I'm not sure if time will allow.. thanks

Two lines added to repertoire: 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5 f6 3.Bh4 c5 4.dxc5 Nc6 and 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5 f6 3.Bf4 Nc6 4.Nf3 Bg4 5.Nbd2 Nxd4 6.Nxd4 e5 (they both would probably only come up in Blitz/Rapid as they seem unsound for White) at www.chessable.com/book/ables-repertoire-black-vs-1d4-and-others/7/
@davidkramaley94338 жыл бұрын
I've now had the opportunity to talk to my coach and do some research, as a result I patched up the repertoire at www.chessable.com/book/ables-repertoire-white-with-1e4/2 and added 4 variations for the Sicilian, specifically, "Sicilian: Moscow 3...Bd7" which this game was. I've memorised these new lines already, hope they are helpful for someone else also :)
