Thanks, Bev. You show not only how to use the tools, but give a good frame of reference for which tool to use when. This is especially helpful to teachers who may not be familiar with how people with low-vision access the computer.

Thank you for posting such a candid, personal struggle you have had as a reader. Since you have identified yourself as an auditory (ear) reader after watching the video, that is empowering! Some of us go our whole life never knowing how we learn; and feel ashamed when we struggle with what seems so easy for most and so difficult for others...and reading is a perfect example. I once heard this: "If you have told a student a 1000 times and they still do not get it, then it's not the student who is the slow learner." We ALL learn differently, which means we need to TEACH differently and be flexible in our teaching..whether it’s our students or our own children. Feeling ashamed of struggling to read without someone reading to you is a very real hurt; and it makes my heart heavy that you or anyone else struggling to read would ever, for a second, feel you are not smart. SO! Take what you've always known about yourself, that perhaps others doubted, and do great things, change peoples' lives and embrace all differences. Whether we read with our eyes or with our ears...that is not what defines us. You have the tools at your fingertips to read anything you want and then express how you feel…just like you so eloquently did for me. :) Now, pop in those earbuds and get reading!

She does not do the product justice. Seems unsure of herself and not prepared for the video. Needs a better spokesperson!

How good is the read aloud application at correctly pronouncing important content specific vocabulary words such as 'homologous chromosome' and 'trophic level'?
@PATINSProject8 жыл бұрын
+Melissa Winkler Thanks for your question Melissa! I apologize for your wait time regarding an answer. We tested the words that you included, and Snap&Read "snapped" those vocabulary words correctly. It also leveled them well. Here is a tutorial for more information if you are interested. donjohnston.com/snap-read/
