I listened to this song today for the first time in decades. I didn’t look for it…it found me. I immediately thought of man who actually stole my heart for over 50 years…then broke it with intent over and over…never once had regret or shame. He’s an old man now and I’m sure he’d agree…All in war is cold…All in love is fair. I’m good.

MAN! You and I, and All in Love is Fair, are the two greatest love ballads ever written, sung, AND played, by one man, in history! I'm 70 years old now, I was 18 in 1972, when he released both songs, I was a musician (lead guitar in a band) and was completely blown AWAY- to this day. These two songs, particularly the original releases done in his prime, are excuisite, unrivalled, hauntingly Beautiful like nothing else, and now bring a tear to my eye- in this shallow world now, with fascist politics and hate, music like this no longer exits- only echoes of the past beauty of the soul.
