What a wonderful Devon attraction. It was an honour to visit The Shire Horse centre a number of times and see #King the gigantic Shire Horse. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoHEi2yKpt93hLM Also, to collect a certificate for taking part in the Birds of Prey show. The zip slide was fantastic. With the aerial pulley slide. Plus, fantastic slide, that unfortunately declined in quality and became slightly damaged. We were actually the only family to witness an awesome, display of Viking combat with, battle reenactment bikers, performing in the bottom field, a war between. Round shielded warriors with broad swords! It was sad, to hear of the decline of, interest in The Shire horses, where surely opportunity to work these magnificent animals, still exists on some steep slopes. One such slope exists near the village of Woodleigh in Devon .

Nice story, and the cat at the beginning of the film looks like a meerkat, for a minute, I believed you filmed a real meerkat there, then I had to rewind back to the beginning to see what animal it is there and it turned out to be your cat I believe

Nice video, love your cats, I never had cats, but over the years a couple have been visiting me and my family, I was so in love with a ginger cat in the past who spent with us most of his time - when his family got a new kitten he went in search of love elsewhere, now we have a black cat coming , but he is a bit more shy and only comes in the garden and only briefly in and out of the house, you certainly look well fit, well done for your daily exercise and lifting of weights, only just recently my son got an exercise bike similar to yours and we keep it in the garden too, I was just wondering how you protect it from the rain, whether you only have it out when it is dry, I have put a composting bin over it which covers it well, but still wonder whether it is ok to leave it out there if it rains. I also like your historic videos, one of my sons has been doing our family research since he was only just 12 and so I am learning about my family from him.

Hi Martina Thank you very much for your kind comments about my video. I debated whether to enter my comtribution on KZbin but when i saw yours online it a couple of days ago iI stimulated me to upload it .--- Pleased you like our cats.-- One is poorly at the moment aged 20 years plus and we keep our fingers crossed daily.. I have alsways exercised since childhhood so I really enjoy my daily sessions - gym or no gym.!! You really put me to shame with your so tidy well kept garden - beautiful - but ours is incredibly unkempt - I love it like that --- with its prospering greenery and mowing grass lawn complete with wild flowers -- - the wildlite really love it --- squirrels badgers urban foxes butterfl;ies etc etc - so much wildlife. It reminds me of my idyllic countryside childhood. Anyway I notice you are on facebook so i propose to send you a friend request and perhaps we could talk more on that channel. Corresponding on youtube is not very easy now unless you are a registered business. All the best Robert

I lived here as a child in the 70`s and have a vague recollection of the men of the village being roused when another child failed to come home the night of the floods. I think he or she was found safe. Anyone got any info? I also fell into a flooded ditch somewhere near the Rec, and got a rollicking when I got home soaking wet!

Hi Robert. Great video as usual. I love your no nonsense approach to the fair. It’s beautiful. I’m a fairground enthusiast and I’ve shared this on my Facebook page. Lots of likes, and here’s a comment from another fairground enthusiast friend of mine...... “This is pretty refreshing from all the other vloggers who constantly rabbit on. He might not know the machines but he knew what the old machines were like the Cakewalk and also the Gallopers and not called em a carousel or merry go round 👍🏻 Just a pity he’s knocking on and doesn’t go elsewhere. Cheers Davey for sourcing this out”.... Keep up the great work 👍🏻😀😀

It's crazy you should mention that as i came here this evening to find a video of the place as my stepdad (Little Eagle) was one of the Indians who used to do the cowboy and indian weekends here! I have fond memories of me and my sister (and a load of others who were staying there over the weekend) going down the deathslides after the park had officially closed in sleeping bags....lol. So much fun and many fond memories!!! One not-so-great memory was seeing some foreign guy (might have been Spanish?) really injure himself on the deathslide. No idea what happened but could have possibly been a broken neck?

Just kayaked from Bishop Meadow to Sawley Marina with a couple of friends (yes my arms are aching!) and then stumbled across your video whilst searching for any footage of the small weir at Ratcliffe as we were contemplating 'shooting it', going to save that for another day when we have wetsuits on.. K B Thank you for your kind comments I really appreciate your feedback because this year I nearly didnt go around the fair on my walkabout due to mobility problems. Still, with my customary walking stick in one hand and a camera stuck on a pole with masking tape held in the other hand i achieved reasonable stabiiity on the trek and thus made my video record of the fair. Regards and best wishes-- Robert.

How come that towns in Europe have fairs in a town square instead at a fairground ? Also why does each ride have their own ticket booth instead at a one or 2 booths location or a ticket office ? In the United States , it is different . There are 1-2 booths or office , and the fairgrounds are hosted by an organization ( 4 H , Lions Club , American Legion , or Kiwanis ) or community .
@richardbryant75053 жыл бұрын
Some are in towns and cities and some are on grounds. Also there are wristband fairs where you pay once and ride for a set time limit, these usually happen when the rides are owned by one person. Fairs like this one the rides are owned by many individuals so they have to charge this way as it's easier than ticketing and dividing money at closing times
