Thank you for sharing, I began to travel with my iPad and load up raw files to Adobe Cloud when I reached home, I wished to move the raw file to the external SSD to free up the limited Adobe Cloud storage, and yet still have a smart preview on Ipad and iPhone, how should I do it?
@meletispix Жыл бұрын
Hey Victor, thanks for watching, I’m not quite sure that’s possible I’m sorry to say. Once you remove the originals from the cloud, everything goes with them. It’s the reason I only keep the photos I’m currently editing on CC cloud and then remove them once done and export JPEGs on my iCloud to have as high res final versions. If you do however figure out a way, let me know 🙏🏼

I reckon you don't know about cloud sync feature of lightroom classic. You can pick which library to upload to cloud by doing so, you get all the cloud features, and you know where your files are. Once you open lrcc, it sync the edits and you can progress from that.

I was hoping for a simpler workflow, you talk about exporting jpegs to Photos, is that the Apple Photo cloud library?, also, what apple desktop/laptop are you using,? editing pics in your desktop/lap top seem to be too slow, I have the M1 MBP and Studio (Max) and there is no lag or waiting period, and I am talking about huge RAW files from my Sony A7RIV, my question is, how fast is really the process of importing the pics to the iPAD, compared with your desktop?...I m looking for an alternative for light traveling (my MPB 16" is great but heavy), have you evaluated the Macbook Air and compared with the iPAD Pro ?
@ahinepics2 жыл бұрын
Nice pro/cons presentation ! 👍🏻 Juste to be sure, but it's possible to use lightroom cc without any use of the sync and cloud thing ?! Lightroom classic user here. But probably going for ipad pro. My workflow as i imagine it, would be import all pictures and make a full save on an external ssd then select and kept only those i'm gonna edit and publish. Finally export that final batch and save it in an under folder on the ssd.
@meletispix2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks Pierre! Not sure how you could work with and external ssd as when you import photos it doesn’t give you the choice of where to store them and it automatically saves them on the ipad. You can export them after the fact as dng files if you choose to but to edit, they need to be on the device. If things have changed and I’m not aware, I’m happy to stand corrected. All the best!

In another murder video, a deer was tied up in the water and several komodo dragons, with great difficulty, managed to approach him and finally kill him. In another video, a jaguar was tied up in the water and several crocodiles killed it. You tube should not allow such videos made by the most miserable criminals.

My question stems from an photo editor's point of view: May one *benefit* from Apple's Mini-LED display for the M1 iPad Pro 12.9' during post-processing (in Photoshop Lightroom)? Or will one only get to witness the "glory" brightness of 1000 nits and beyond *only* when *viewing* HDR content? I've been told that Apple's new XDR projects at around 500/ 600 nits during normal usage. Do you notice any micro-contrast improvements when editing on the 12.9' mini-LED vs the normal 11'? Please advise, and thank you in advance.

Anyways as for today tbe only thing been changed is you can send your pics forth and back between lightroom & photoshop. One more point to add is you can't use brush in lightroom for selected editing such as dodging & burning, it's global.

Well @meletispix, how about a workflow I would like to achieve with iPad running Lr Mobile and regular PC running Lr Classic. I have regular workflow set-up on my PC with LR Classic - with my own folder structure, older folders being moved to NAS, separate catalogs for each year, and this is working great for me in terms of photo organization and backup. Now, I would like to add iPad with Lr Mobile for quick edits on the move - so I go for photo adventure, connect my Sony Alpha to iPad over USB-C and download photos to iPad, then I would like to work on the photos to cull them and edit them on iPad. But when I return home, I want to download photos from the same Sony Alpha over USB to my custom folder structure on my PC, fire up Lr Classic and would like to sync only my edits and not the photos. I would like to skip the sync-photos-to-Adobe-cloud piece as I want to stay on my Adobe Photography program with only 20GB of Adobe Cloud. So after edits would sync from Adobe Cloud to my Lr Classic, I would like to delete photos from my iPad Lr Mobile but would like edits to stick to my Lr Classic files I have on my PC. Is it feasible?
@meletispix3 жыл бұрын
Hey Woy, I’m afraid there’s no way that I know to just sync the edits. You have the workflow down, all you have to do I get the photos to sync over to your pc and move them to a local folder. Then you can delete them from your cloud. It can be done with just 20gb so that shouldn’t be an issue. Only if you take more than 20gb of photos at a time. In that case just pay up and update 😂👌🏼🙃
@stryjo3 жыл бұрын
@@meletispix well, I did my own testing on such workflow. and when I have images both in LR Mobile and my custom folder structure in LR Classic and perform sync, LR Classic creates a virtual copy of the image in local folder and this virutal copy has all edits performed in LR Mobile applied. I can edit LR Mobile image further and it syncs to LR Classic virtual copy. I also deleted images from LR Mobile but they remained as virtual copies with all edits applied in LR Classic. So, it works, it is cumbersome and a bit awkward, but it is fine with me. So, I am preparing to purchase iPad.... Pro 11" with M1 :) Thank you @meletispix for your video!

I use the same work flow of you : IPad Pro + Mac mini M1 + benq SW270C monitor but I notice some color difference from Lightroom CC and Lightroom classic in my mac. I try to explain me better: I use the iPad to modify the color, WB etc… but when I open the same picture in the desktop version the color grading are different and with more sature color. In the IPad Pro screen the color are more natural. This create confusion in my work flow because I don’t know how color version is corrected. The monitor is calibrate and the profile that I used is sRGB ( I tried to use the P3 mode also). Nothings is changed. Have you never notice this difference during your works?
@meletispix3 жыл бұрын
Hey Riccardo, my Mac screen is so bad I don’t even pay attention to what the colours look like on it 😂. At the end of the day the colours I see on the iPad are the same I see on my iPhone which is what I use to post to Instagram which is where most people see my images so that’s the only place I care how the colours look. My suggestion to you would be to post an image online and view it from a few different devices abs see what looks best and then edit with that in mind. Keep in mind though too that most people view our images on tiny phone screens. If you are going to print your images then that’s totally different you’d have to run tests from each device and calibrate accordingly. Hope this helps 👍🏼
