Do you know when to start turning if you’re driving a 26ft box truck?
@SafeTravells29 күн бұрын
Indeed....a 26 foot straight truck is like a bob tailing condo tractor...or what is known as a 'large car'....so drive as you would a longer car watching in your convex and west coast mirrors that you don't drive over anything...a straight truck is much easier than a 25' tractor and 53' trailer...

This is the kind of tutorial I need. The instructor I’m stuck with just sits there and is like “watch your tandems” I also didn’t know about the door lining up, I was just told after the drive wheels cross the middle. Also if it’s a dual left turn into 2 lanes is it normal for the tandems to off track into the inner lane? Happens every time for me

...it's tension between the trailer rail and pin that causes pins sticking...applying the trailer brakes and lightly backing or moving forward while the release handle is locked 'out' usually releases them...'fluidfilm' wouldn't hurt...

Thanks for the tip! Im eager to try it monday when i go driving at school. If im on my road test in ny and make this turn but cant get right back to the right lane im guessing id be impeding traffic and thus an auto fail? Thanks again.

But what if you have cars on those lanes that you have to over take, lots of times there is traffic and they can’t move and you have cars behind you so you can wait too long

Turns, backing up, angle parking, you name it I can do fairly easily but then get on the highway and look like a complete idiot 😩
@nickguzman812711 ай бұрын
I need help steering on the highway. Everyone always says the same thing "oh you'll be alright" or "it comes with time and experience" but I just don't think I'm ever going to get it. It frustrates me so much that it makes me want to quit driving and I LOVE driving. This is the only job I feel comfortable doing, I'm on my own, don't have to worry about or work with anyone. It's just a rewarding job all around. But I get frustrated not really knowing how to steer, keep the tractor and trailer centered on the highway, not knowing how to steer into or out of curves on the highway....just all around feel sloppy with civilians and other truckers wanting to stay clear of me 🤦♂️😩 I'm trying my hardest and have accomplished and overcome alot but still I hate looking like I can't drive

What’s that bar in the first hole for ?
@SafeTravells Жыл бұрын
Hi...That's a 'stopper bar' to prevent the axles from sliding off the rail....the other end of the rail has the 'ICC' bumper mount.
@jovanygallardo27036 ай бұрын
@tinyhome60mph that stopper bar is it suppose to move freely or does it have to be welded. DOT put me out of service for that.

Some jurisdictions do not allow trucks in the left lane. With that said, if you already have the right lane occupied, why give it up just to try another lane change?

What do you do if there is heavy traffic that’s stopped in that turn lane and you need to turn wide. Do I have to stop and wait until it’s clear. What if I got traffic behind me also waiting to make that right turn? If traffic is heavy that left turn lane may never be clear especially if that left turn lane has a traffic light 🚦 on it as well. What would I have to do to make the turn at that point?
@SafeTravells Жыл бұрын
Just follow the rules of the road- who has the right of way? If you have to wait-so be it -wait....we're driving 75 feet of articulating truck...do so safely-not speedily..

Is that a automatic one? I have one with eight speed and I’m having the hardest time doing it because on the PTO doesn’t stay on and he doesn’t shoot water. I guess it’s because of rocks.

Hi John I really like your training videos on the semi truck. Sorry to bother you, but do you have the training video on straight line backing in a semi truck. I could have sworn you made one, but I can't find it. If not, can you make one? I really like the way you explain and show everything from the drivers point of view. It really helps a lot. Well, I hope to hear back from you, take care and thanks for the great content.

I’m 43 years old and have always loved semi trucks. Never driven one but Walmart just started a program that they will teach associates to drive a truck.
