Such a vehicle would be useful in rural areas of the country. Somerset Fire Service had a Land Rover conversion many years ago, unfortunately it was not replaced after it was retired.
@jakedovey7488Ай бұрын
For a long time Hereford and Worcester fire and rescue service used pinzguaer fire appliances and specialist atvs for all terrain firefighting, I believe they still have the atvs but I'm pretty certain that the pinzguaers have been replaced by landrovers with smaller water and foam tanks, smaller pumps and less carrying capacity!
@LondonEmergency999Ай бұрын
Devon and Somerset FRS still use Land Rovers, I know they have them at Castle Cary, Wellington and Burnham. They also have a number of Ivecos very similar to the one in the video, mainly for use in Devon, but they do have them at Chard and Wells for example.

Don’t really know why Biggin Hill needs an appliance with 4x4 capability... or am I missing something?
@LondonEmergency999Ай бұрын
You’re missing the airport, steep country lanes which are impassable for standard appliances in winter, heathland, fields, woodland, etc etc.. have a look at the areas surrounding the station on google maps.
@YelpBullhornАй бұрын

@@LondonEmergency999 main reason is the airport also the only reason the station itself exists as its one of the least used in London
@LondonEmergency99918 күн бұрын
@ Biggin Hill FS exists to protect the town and surrounding countryside, it wasn’t built to protect the airport, as the airport has always had its own FRS.
