Great video - really informative. Thanks! My wife and I would love to do this in the next couple of years. Can I ask where you rented the vehicle from in South Africa, i.e. where the most convenient departure location for a trip into Botswana and Namibia is? It'd be great to see the route you took, too.
@EricAndAsh9 күн бұрын
We've done it two ways. This trip we flew into Windhoek and out of Victoria Falls (dropping the vehicle off in Kasane). When we did just Botswana a few years before, we did a loop starting and ending in Johannesburg South Africa. A lot of it just depends on the rout you're looking to do and what you want to see. Both countries work really well as loops on their own, and each is definitely worth it's own trip. We've used the team at www.DriveBotswana.com to book for both trips and highly recommend them. Their website has some good itineraries, too. drivebotswana.com/travel-style/camping/

Thanks for sharing. I wonder if that pile of rocks toward the end might be where Aaron set up the golden calf. Looks like the perfect location to do so.

Great set up! Just wondering, how did they attach the AluCab 3R RTT to the FrontRunner rack? I have the Slimline II from them and considering getting the 3R RTT as well... Thanks :)
@EricAndAsh9 күн бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Those mounts are one of the only things on the FJ I didn't purchase and/or install myself... sorry! It's connected with three mounts on each side of the vehicle. Each mount is two parts - the first spans across two of the east/west bars of the slimline rack for better weight distribution. the second extends out from that like kind of like an L bracket, connecting to the rails on the bottom of the tent and then also extending out and (on the back two on each side) connecting to the side rails. It looks to be sized just right for the alucab, so it may be something directly from them. They've been helpful in the past when I was looking at things, so it might be worth reaching out to them to see if they can help you find it.

Hey guys just found your channel however I couldn't find the video with the information I was looking asides from this video; my question is how did you guys buy a house on a tourist visa? I thought the Kingdom doesn't allow non-citizens to own property/make KSA their permanent residence
@EricAndAsh2 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. We rent our home, and we're on a residency work permit/visa as we work here. We made this video back in 2021 when the new Saudi Tourist Visa came out since there wasn't a lot of info on it at the time.

I can personaly recomend Pangolin Photo Safaris having been there this year. You will come away a better photographer, due to their expertise and guidence. I felt empowered and more confident in myself. And I owe it to Pangoloin Photo Safaris

I have been wanting to go to Botswana and specifically with Pangolin. just haven't done it yet. How many days did you spend at Chobe? Did you also go to Okavonga Delta?
@EricAndAsh2 ай бұрын
We spent 5 nights at Pangolin this time, and it was wonderful! We spent just one night there back in 2018 when we were self driving around Botswana and we were immediately hooked. We've been to the Okavango Delta on our own, but we'd love the chance to go with Pangolin.

Mohammed killed all the jews and christians who did not convert to Islam, Mohammed was a war lord and committed genocide to spread Islam. Also its the place where Mohammed was poisoned by a jewish lady because Mohammed killed her family and later he died from that poisoning.

You have an amazing place ! I just watched because I know little about living in Saudi Arabia. Most of my knowledge was corrupted by some negative perceptions but, it seems, like Saudi Arabia can be a fantastic place to live given the right circumstances. I am too old now but, if I had my life over again, I would give the place a serious look knowing what I have learned so far :). Thanks for this.
