As bad as the video is the band is tight, have a great stage presence and I like the upbeat that the earlier versions had. Brings back many memories of how awesome the club days back then where. Makes this old fart feel alive again! \m/

As if we needed more KISS analysis in our lives, some dude with a KISS-centric channel was doing the "rank the albums"-thing for the Eleventy Billionth time in human history and I swear to God his rankings were so oompa-loompa idiotic, it was like "Did you actually listen to the albums, or were you going by best jacket art"? ( And shit, even by THAT standard dude was STILL singing "doopity-doo" on the short bus ) Anywho, Mr. Wizard makes observation, in HIS opinion anyway, that "Revenge" doesn't travel well going forward in his Dr. Who telephone booth. Are you kidding me? I don't know what YOU think, but there's a massive rock and roll energy vacuum between "Creatures" and Revenge, and all of us who grew up with this band ( "Struttered" my happy 7 year-old ass into a TG&Y in 1977 and used Grandma's birthday money to buy "Rock and Roll Over" thank you very much ) said the exact. same. thing. when "Unholy" hit the airwaves: FINALLY. Which was of course followed by, "jeezus, that only took a decade of pain and suffering"... Trends come and go, but KISS was founded upon a combination of early Lennon-McCartney, Detroit, London, and NYC proto-punk, and the theatrical approach of Alice Cooper. These elements were starting to recycle around 1988, but not in the mainstream. Jane's, Love and Rockets ( on the Bowie/T. Rex tip ), Ministry, and Rollins Band had all fired their opening salvos, and a pre-"Nevermind" raw rock explosion was coming around the corner. This 3 year window was in perfect alignment with the foundational elements of KISS, so as I look back it becomes very easy to see why "Revenge" was like getting a gallon of ice water after walking through Death Valley all day. Very cool concert vid. This version of "I Want You" just fvcking SLAMS. Thank for sharing.

Please, Don’t Ever delete this and the Fall Demo 1984! We must preserve Peter Criss’s solo career! He’s one of rock’s greatest drummers. Plus these songs sound better in their a little bit higher keys than the previous posts of these songs.

Ace and his band was great here. Who took over for Tod. He was good on guitar but you can see the difference between him and Tod singing live. I think Tod has a much smoother and better voice vocally.
@tolvis7723 күн бұрын
Richie Scarlet replaced Tod, but was actually a part of the first Frehley's Comet era in 1984-85, so it was Tod who replaced him in the first place.
