@ 39:28, pause shows that the base runner was out at first. Tom Hallion with another bad call but it was bang-bang.

@ 1:27:48, the first sighting of Greg Maddux while in a Chicago Cubs uniform. But I was at the 1985 exhibition game played against the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines, IA when the minor leaguer Maddux was the starter for the Chicago Cubs.

13:55 That's a balk...isn't it? His right foot never leaves the rubber. He moves his head after coming to a complete stop in the set position. The hands come apart from the set position without throwing either to home or second base. Any one of those is grounds for a balk.

I’ve been listening to Bob since 1982. Summer in Wisconsin is beautiful. Listening to him on headphones makes doing yard-work enjoyable. I hope Attanasio makes some signings at the trade deadline, and gets Mr. Baseball a long overdue Brewer’s championship ring. God Bless you Bob.

I love these classics. Please add ANY San Diego Padres television broadcast from 1977-84. I've been searching for earliest televised Padres broadcast and only one vs Pirates '81 is earliest.. ANY Mets,Braves,Reds, Giants,Dodgers, Phillies broadcast vs Padres from the 70s or early 80s? Please add to archives for fan viewing. That would be a treasure

It has been said, one of the reasons the '84 team fell apart was because the Sox let Koosman go. If he would have been around with Seaver, it might be a different story...

I taped this game off the TV...Lol. I remember after the game and all the clubhouse/locker room interviews with Joe Simpson and Don Sutton, I remember the TBS crew made a tribute to the 92 team, with the background music being Bruce Springsteen's song..."All Or Nothing At All".

@@ThisIsWhereYouFindBaseball I had just finished watching the LSU vs Virginia CWS game from ‘09. I watched the game live back then, but I surely didn’t remember it correctly. They were talking about the strike and I thought they got the year wrong. Strike happened mid season of 1981
@ThisIsWhereYouFindBaseball8 күн бұрын
Oh, no, there was indeed a strike in 1980 that so many folks have forgotten. It was from April 1st to the 8th that cancelled the final week of spring training, then there was almost another strike in late May 1980 that was put off until that next year.
