@@umohhelen2685 so sorry about that, maybe you got an expired smocking thread or mostly importantly maybe your shuttle is too tight for the smocking thread. You should have a permanent shuttle for smocking, go to the bolt on the shuttle and loosen it up a bit . This should give a perfect smocking effect

@@blessingchiamaka4178 You definitely will need to add slit to the back for easy movement but in case you want it to have flare like the one I made, all you need to do is extend the length of the flare to your full dress length
