I did my smocking but it didn't give that elastic effect what could be the reason? It was stiff and not stretchy

@@umohhelen2685 so sorry about that, maybe you got an expired smocking thread or mostly importantly maybe your shuttle is too tight for the smocking thread. You should have a permanent shuttle for smocking, go to the bolt on the shuttle and loosen it up a bit . This should give a perfect smocking effect

@@blessingchiamaka4178 You definitely will need to add slit to the back for easy movement but in case you want it to have flare like the one I made, all you need to do is extend the length of the flare to your full dress length

Lovely dress... this would have been a great tutorial if all the necessary measurements had been mentioned as you went along... eg. Body measurements, Sleeve length etc.

Love this style. How many inches did you go in at the shoulder before sanding the arm hole. What type of fabric did you use for the upper part.
