Did you see the Pissheads drinking Henry Westons outside Sports Direct? Or the Smack-Rats overdosing in Frankfort Gate? Two of the Treats that Plymouth has to offer! Even the Seagulls fly upside-Down, because there is Nothing worth Shitting on!!

I once applied for a job in this town and was excitingly ready to move there until I was rejected at the last minute. Looking back, I'm glad I was as where I work and live now is miles ahead, no offence Gosport people.

Dull, bleak place now. Not that it ever was an exciting town. But a lot more people used to shop in the centre. I guess the big chain stores and supermarkets took the business away. The Havant museum is worth a visit, in East Street You didn't look into the Meridian shopping mall. Is it all boarded up now?

Quite good but not ultimate as there are some significant omissions, such as the road via Rosia and Camp Bays and then through the Keightley Way Tunnel to Euro Point.

Just from watching the video: So sad! just a major road with cars 6 lane road with no pedestrian area. A six lane highway IS the city centre!! Difficult to cross the roads fencing to stop pedestrians - only one crossing point - a traffic light system 😞, otherwise roundabouts making it impossible to cross...if you manage to cross you have to stay on the side of the major road you've crossed for a long time. Thoroughly unpleasant even on a fine day! Must be horrible in sleet and rain and winds. The traffic noise is nasty the air pollution from cars must be bad Virtually nowhere to sit even if you are waiting for a bus. Who on earth 'designed' this mess? The one nicer area with trees is now treeless I understand ...all cut down in the middle of the night. Concrete blocks everywhere Why? Soul less place like Milton Keynes

Well that looks far different to how I remember the place. I lived there from 1954 to late '69. Nice to see some familiar landmarks are still left though, regarding the old Ritz mentioned elsewhere that brings back memories, pretty sure I can still remember it being built, a step up from the 'flea pit' Criterion on Forton rd.and I certainly remember the old path next to it leading down to the yachting club and the old rent a rowboat pond. I gather the old Connaught Drill Hall is also long gone? Many memories of club nights there with the Solent City Scooter Club during the '60's.

Nothing but charity shops, vape shops immigrant run takeaway shops n the homeless sleeping n begging in shop fronts. And Gospit council call that The High street. Stoke road aint much better. The only good thing about Gospit is the roads out n thah can take forever. My advice get out now. Am glad i did.

Anyone notice the RN nuke sub (32.27) berthed at South Mole (left of screen, low dark silouette) as the filming/vehicle enters the small boat marina ? If you ask why is it there or here ? It's escorting the Aircraft Carrier no doubt at all.

Spent some time there in Feb 2005, stayed at fort blockhouse for Sett training, no longer in use sadly. Remember catching the gosport ferry to gun wharf and buying cds in hmv and taking in a flick there happy times. Is it fridays the bar on the right hand corner at the end, might of been called something else at the time? Remember watching champions league games in there also.

As a good culture shift come with climate change. I, from the north and with an active metabolism and a sensory issue for shorts, was in Southampton on Nov 24-5 and 9 Dec 2023, bright days with springlike weather in the pre-Christmas period with all the market running. Weather that never used to be possible Nov-Mar in Britain of my 70s-80s childhood, but Dec 9 had a nippy windiness too. There were loads of folks wearing shorts. Not just one in a day. Not a few one-off sensory issue outriders like is often how you would see me. No. There were many! Still a minority, but steady stream of them everywhere and all through the day. Like just as casually ordinary to do then as in summer. So that for Dec 9 I could even predict it from the earlier memory, and that prediction was right!
