If this all happened in the same vehicle, chances are you might have a wire that rubbed through and under the right conditions is shorting out

@@YungSteambuns so i think i found that i wired the harness to the cars radio harness forgetting that the rca cables went from radio to amp and that's how i was getting sound, im thinking the wires that werent being used were touching something, i removed all those wires and i just have red yellow black , dimmer orange and blue for amp/remote, things are ok so far. also found out when it goes dead and needs a new daughterboard it's the chip on that small board you can try to reflow with a heat gun sometimes it works but so far i have a working unit again. if it goes out im just getting a stand alone 6.95 gps and wiring the head unit in separately under the dash
