Whether these scientists are right about Thwaites melting faster or not, their reasons for why its melting so fast is entirely wrong (because humans burn fossil fuels). How someone could be so right and wrong at the same time is incredible. We humans could burn 5X more fossil fuels than we do now and it would still have very little overall affect on the environment. Its annoying how behind every environmental situation theres a political movement attached to it. The Earth's environment has been changing from hot/cold/inbetween for billions of years, so how do scientists explain the last time the Earth heated up and fossil fuels weren't a factor? They don't know for the record but its safe to say it wasn't due to fossil fuels but apparently this time it is based off......bad analysis, a political agenda, corrupt scientists. Society won't make strides forward if we keep turning every single scientific finding into a movement to destroy some economic industry. We should push to end scientific research since life was simpler and less stressful before we began trying to mircomanage every aspect of life. Even if Al Gore was right in the 1990's when he said "all the ice caps will be gone by 2020" there was never anything we could've done about it. Do you understand how large and powerful Earth's environment is? Do you realize we're thousands of years, maybe more away from being able to have some type of influence on it? Probably not but I just thought you should know how corrupt and politically motivated every scientific finding is in 2024. If the ice caps melt we are totally F'd but theres also nothing we can do about it one way or another.
