I'm happy I came along and caught this! I was in school when it originally aired and studying for graduate orals, so I'd never heard of it till last week. I find it so great to see a show that honors the street cops. I wish they hadn't cancelled it--I was starting to think of Ray as sort of a guardian angel who always knew what to do and say. Anyway, who knows? Maybe someone will pick up on the themes and try another similar series. Thanks for posting it!

Wow, plot twists every 3 minutes! This series was incredible! I would think people get tired of watching soapy tv about detectives. The street cops are so much more interesting.

This episode makes me wonder why the program didn’t survive. Characters, stars, storylines, good stuff.

The guy playing the buffoon captain does a great job at that. The “bugged” office scenario was funny.

Funny that Chris Meloni played the same type of character almost a year ago on NYPD Blue. Luckily he didnt get typecast as "westie irish gamgster"

Having seen a dead body, I guarantee that in real life those guys would have known he was just sleeping in the coffin. Still funny.

So, I'm an NYPD blue fan on FB. NYPD Blue is my fav cop series of all time. When it ended I felt as though I had lost a family member, I felt grief. I swore there would never be another cop series that could equal it. After seeing this series I realized I was wrong. Such a shame it only had one season

When they show it in Ireland 🇮🇪, I thought maybe it was going be another Hill Street blues, but it wasn't going to be. Even James b skikking couldn't save it.

Paul Ingleman was a first class jerk, and deserved to be thrown into jail for attacking his partner over stupid stuff, same as any other guy who engages in domestic violence. That's what would have happened if Matt Heegan (who would have been more convincing if he hadn't been written as such a raging homophobe) had just done his job.

What it could have been. Had this series been allowed to continue, it would have eventually netted Emmys for Gara Basabara, Dylan Walsh and Yancy Butler. Jon Tenny, also. I don't know if the show runners knew that episode 22 would be their last ever because I recall when I watched the first run back in 1998, it felt like a series ender. This show felt like a "sister series" to NYPD Blue. Lots of familiar faces and even some actors who were continuing their roles they started on NYPD Blue (Det. Stu Morrison...remember the "Thick Stu" episode?), and Steve Reynolds, the creepy little guy who was always trying to get reward money? Even Martens from the "rat squad." Just an excellent show and thank you so much for posting the entire first and only year. Interesting thought: had this show taken off and gotten a long run on ABC, would Dylan Walsh ever had the chance to do "Nip/Tuck?" Would Adam Rodriguez ever been on "CSI Miami?" Would Richard T. Jones found a home on "Judging Amy?" Hmmm

Thanks so much for posting these episodes. I remember watching the first few when it originally aired but then I lost it. I'm glad I got to watch the entire season. There's plenty to like here; tons of potential. It's too bad CBS didn't give it another season to work out the kinks. Jon Finn was a solid addition to the cast in the second half of the season. Titus Welliver finally found his range in episode 21 when he was tossing Steve around in the interrogation room, thus becoming the character we wanted him to be. Richard T Jones is such a pro, Yancy Butler was really coming into her own in the Detective Squad, and I've always been a huge fan of Gary Basaraba. Another good show, gone too soon.

This is a TV show. It basically propaganda. If cops have to enforce unjust laws as part of their job. No one is forcing them at gunpoint to do job that leads to moral bankruptcy.

Thank you for posting the entire series. I never watched it when it originally aired, and now I understand why so many folks were disappointed then CBS canceled it after Season 1. It is a good series, and it would've been great to see them finish some of the character arcs, but despite that, the way it ends was really good.
