What controller do you use I have the thunderbolt solar one the cheapy one sp we don't mess up the expensive one trying on the cheat. They don't work in the cloudy days at all so why is that?

I just want to Slap this Guy for so Many reasons... 1 why do you have a intake hose running to the outside? Take it off... 2 The mufler goes at end of pipe to reduce pipe noise and where you have it is too hot as well you will burn our muffle and have heat build up too close to Unit... 3 you are running a 12v inverter from 12v and the plugging in a 120v v to 12v converter to that! WTF just Palm/Face!!

You're misleading people. The N2 model DOES NOT have a thermostat controller. That's just the lcd controller. It just turns on/off and has a few other options. The pro model has that fancy thermostat controller....

I bought one and was wondering if it would be beneficial to run an intake also. taking air from inside the truck and taking that warmer air and putting it back into the truck ?
@Off-gridCherokee2 ай бұрын
I'd consider that a small application and imo it could recirculate moist air which you don't want. In a larger application I would say you'd be fine. For example, in my jeep I didn't run one. But in my awning room I do. We actually moved to a canvas tent this winter. So we are going to try both ways and see what happens.

We have abused ours for the past year. Repeated 30-50mph winds, days and nights. Snow, rain it has taken it all. But not with out some scares. We are in Nevada and the sun here cooks everything. The main straps didn't last the full year. But nothing some ratchet straps didn't fix. Also we received our first tear. In 50+mph winds just the other day. But you have to consider we use ours every single day. The average camper will only use it a few times a month if that. It's a great bang for buck.

The muffler works just great because it is placed on the outside end of the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe attaches easily to the heater. Comes with the clamps.

My idea,Use the Y adapter that he shows at 5:16 and leave it open or blocked it off half way and see if you can regulate the heat that way... I have never had one of these and never even seen them till recently on youTube.. So I can't tell ya if that idea will work or not but it's worth a try... If you don't have that Y adapter I'm wondering if you poke a few holes into the heater hose if that will regulate how hot it comes out the end

A friend has the Lg 58qt single zone Aloicool. It's going on 4 years old. It bounces around in his Volvo big rig. The first one he bought was DOA. But said it was because of shipping. But the one he is using now hasn't shut off. It's ran 100% as a freezer. I think the cheaper ones are doing pretty good. I know of a few people that have bought Alpicool's. Setpower's and the like. In big rigs. What started me out on the 12v fridge journey was a guy I know has a 63qt ARB that is now almost 17 years old. He replaced it with a ARB 82qt. That's now 5 years old. Both run 24/7. He has the 63qt in his garage. I started out with a Dometix CFX 53qt. It still is running. Bought it in 2010. Sold it to a lady truck driver. She's still using it. I've always could afford to buy higher end. I'm actually now running two of the plastic Iceco's in my truck. They work. 43qt and 53qt. I have 5 of these 12v fridge/freezers still. The biggest thing I've noticed is the higher end ones are better insulated. My truck lost battery power a year ago. And these Iceco's were above 50 degree's within 4-5 hours. I have a BIG Snomaster 85L Expedition series dual zone. I had it unplug on me and spent 11 hours off and I didn't notice it. When I plugged it back in the freezer side was at 23 (10 degrees set point) degrees and the fridge side at 42 degrees. (34 degrees setpoint.) My sister has noticed that her Dometic CFX3 holds temps better than her others she's had for camping. She's had a Vevor 58qt, a Setpower. And has a Iceco VL45. Plus the Dometic and she says the Dometic is the best one. I promote these 12v fridge/freezers to drivers as much as possible. Modern semi's come with a refrigerator. Inverters and places to put at least a microwave. I have a microwave and a air fryer. A friend has both and a instapot. He has a Dometic CFX3 55IM like my sister. It's cheaper and better than living out of the truck stops. I like your review. Most are just advertisements.

How "strong" is the velcro since the walls are attached by velcro only vs the competition using zippers?

Why does everyone who shows these kind of units, draw air from outside instead of piping both the intake and exhaust to the inside of the vehicle. Recirculating the air should be far more efficient than pulling in cold outside air and heating it. I promise I am not trying to be a troll. I genuinely don't understand. There must be a reason.
@Off-gridCherokee9 ай бұрын
Condensation. We have used it just how you described but the air was more damp. When pumped out to fresh air it was noticeable dryer. Mike from @workshopwildernessadventures brought this to our attention.

I have just got the N2 it's brilliant except for the exhaust and clips so annoying. I use it in my caravan and van it's so warm definitely worth investing in the N2 and nice that I can plug it straight into the plug 🔌 without always using my leisure battery. I am in Scotland uk
@erubielalanis66584 ай бұрын
@@Nivek321 I did end up getting the N2, It's going to be permanently installed in my cargo trailer camper. I gave it a trial run recently during a cold morning and it worked wonderfully, I have no worries about it keeping my rig warm (6 feet wide x 12 feet long and about 7 feet high). I was concerned with the fuel pump tick but it only does it in the beginning when it's priming the system, once the whole thing gets going the ticking goes away.
