For the Oahu south shore surfers it goes incredible 1-4 ft. Took my 5’8 out in knee to head high this week and it went incredible at rockpiles 2-3 ft. Definitely maxed out around head high just flew down the line and started to feel air under the fins and boards as I went faster. Surfed w Rastavich twin + 1

It's a tuned up Modern Highline from Global Surf. Considered an intermediate level board, the Highline is a pretty good board and much cheaper.

Thank you very much for that. I haven't written a global surfboard in a long time, but I can't vouch for this. Machado Cado. I usually don't switchboards that often and I do have a choice of switching to any board After I dialed in my friends, I've been writing this every day for the past three months now Surprising most people that I surf with they don't complement your surfing. I've been surfing with them for over 30 years and two guys told me that I look really good on that surfboard and my surfing has improved which I'm really stoked. I feel like it flows through the T1's and sometimes the Rasta 2+1. Both are actually the same fin template, but the Rasta is stiffer and it has a little inside foil so it has a little bit more grip down the line and hold through turns. So if there's a little small town bump that's about chest to head high, I ride the rosters and then when it's smaller, I've been riding the T1 the T1 seem like they have a lot more flex so it kind of feels a little bit more playful. If you tried both boards, I'd like to hear that difference of how they feel in the water. - David

hahaha... I haven't surf that white tiger, but the Machado Cado is now my daily town board. I don't switch boards often. Of course I would try a few new models but once I find one that I like, I'll surf it for a few years and this one I've been surfing it daily for 3 months now.. Actually, I've been getting compliments on my surfing. It's really changed my approach the wave I'm not sure because it's the way it carries through the flats or what but I'm having a lot more fun and I feel like I'm able to connect the dots a lot better. - David

I just picked one of these up. It is such a fun board. I am still trying to figure out the perfect fins for it. The Brit Merrick twins were too stiff and i think have too much surface area. I have a set of square surf upright twins that are great for turns but not a as good when the waves get hollow. I ordered some T1s to try next. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

Hey this is a great video! I'm a female surfer and weigh about 80kg which is in the grey area between medium and large sized fins. Do you think it would be better to size up or down? Or just base it in condition e.g. medium for big days and large for smaller days? Thanks
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore 11 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. We received a lot of great input from Keoni, our FCS rep here in Hawaii, so I hope this helps clarify things. When it comes to fin sizing, it really depends on the shape of your board and the type of waves you’ll be riding. For pin-tails in better or bigger waves I’d recommend using medium fins. You don’t want to "over-fin" the board , better waves naturally provide more speed. You just need maintain control without being too stiff, allowing for better maneuverability in powerful conditions. For smaller waves , boards like stubby, hybrid shortboards, or rounded fishes, such as the RNF 96 I'd recommend 2+1, MR or Power Twins In smaller conditions, larger side fins help grab more water, giving you the speed you need to get down the line. The small trailer fin keeps the board loose and allows for tighter turning radius and more responsiveness. For shortboards for small waves with a squash the large side fins can also work well to provide more drive. If the board feels too stiff, you can swap the center fin for a medium or small trailer fin to loosen things up and improve turning ability. Oh also if you are using a EPS and the board feels a little too floaty use one of Mick Fanning fins. The 2+1 and Thruster set up and the new Carissa Moore fins. The side fins, the leading edge they're a little more rounded so it makes the board sit and it doesn't let it bounce around. Also, when you're turning, it wants to hold all the way through the turn so you can do a real hard round house cut back without it sliding out and it's real predictable.. I hope that helps. I put a few leaks just in case you wanna check out the fins if you're in the US it's free shipping if you're international we can do that too. We use DX and it's pretty cool. Is it updates all the duties and taxes upfront no surprises. Super big Mahalo for checking us out If you didn't subscribe, please do we will appreciate it for sure. -David ---------- 2+1 MR - Currently these are sold out and FCS themselves are sold outo we have a big order coming from FCS , they are getting it Oct 15th. www.hawaiiansouthshore.com/search?q=fcs+mr+fin&options%5Bprefix%5D=last Power Twins - these come in a few colors Also come in twin set up and twin with stabilizer so if you do get these, just make sure you properly look at the title. www.hawaiiansouthshore.com/search?q=power+twin&options%5Bprefix%5D=last ------- EPS Boards Mick www.hawaiiansouthshore.com/search?q=fcs+mick+fanning&_pos=1&_psq=fcs+mick&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Carissa Moore www.hawaiiansouthshore.com/search?q=carissa+moore&_pos=1&_psq=carissa&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Echoing what Tony's saying. In my experience my LFT Cymatic (5'10") went the best in 3-6' conditions in town and smaller days country, especially at more fatter open faced waves. Had to RMA that board because of resin contamination issue but Firewire promptly sent me a new one in the Volcanic helium style construction (this time 5'9") - no issues yet 🤞. The volcanic definitely feels springy and more fun in smaller waves 2-4'. I recommend quads, AM2 works good. Also tried the Legacy pivot thruster set which loosened the board up a bit. Great daily driver for summer.

Right on, Thank you for that! I hpoe no issues on the replacement.. I believe they have that issue all worked out. If memory serves me correctly it was an issue with a factory next-door. That was a metal machine shop and the dust was getting into the factory. If anybody that's reading this or you if you worked at a glassing factory, you'll know that the smallest dust makes a huge difference on the boards. Unfortunately when that happens, especially with metal, you really can't tell until after the fact So sealed off the whole factory kind of like a hazmat isolation rooom. Then I think slowly transitioned into a new factory. - David

Are these fins too big for me? im 5'7" 160 riding a 5'8" CIS Neckbeard. I have CI Keels in now and I'm having a super difficult time getting the board to make a tight arc turn on rail, which I've seen done before by Parker Coffin on the board. Anyway, given the stats, what twin set would you recommend? I'm a fairly decent surfer for 47. thank you in advance! great channel!
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore 28 күн бұрын
The CI Keels are a much large fin with more rank then this MR Twin. These twins are more upright and will pivot more then the CI's for sure. I would recommend the MR 2+1 for the neckbeard. I think the fin side fin placement is meant for more of a Thruster set up. You'll have the speed of a twin, but then you'll be able to go deep off the bottom and pickup some speed then pivot off the top. The MR's are upright fins. When you have straight twins, you're not supposed to surf it top to bottom, it's best to stay more in the top half of the wave. If you drive off the bottom with twin the board tends to bog or slide out.

Want the Dominator2 or the S Boss. What's the difference underfoot between the 2 boards. Heard the S Boss surfs kinda similar as the Sweet Potato, only more high performance. Is this true?
@hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore Ай бұрын
Aloha Thanks for reaching out with your question about the Dominator2 and the S Boss. Let's break it down to help you decide which board might be the best fit for you. The S Boss is more like a shortboard replacement. It's a bit easier to ride compared to something like the FRK because it's shorter, has a wider tail and nose, and really rips. It's not what I'd call a groveler; instead, think of it as a "rip stick" with low rails and super responsiveness. It also has a bit lower rocker than the FRK, making it a bit more user-friendly. The Sweet Potato Comparison I wouldn't really compare the S Boss to the Sweet Potato. Sweet Potato was designed for a completely different purpose. The S Boss is more performance-oriented and not really in the same category. The Dominator2 is an awesome choice if you're an amateur or beginner looking for a great shortboard. It's also a killer groveler for more experienced surfers. It has a fuller rail and nose compared to the S Boss, and a wider squash tail, which makes it really friendly and amazing in softer, smaller waves. It can handle bigger waves too, but it truly shines in the smaller stuff. Rocker Comparison As for the rocker, the S Boss actually took its rocker from the Dominator2. Dan just tweaked it a bit by flipping the tips up more, giving it that extra edge. Hope this helps clear things up! Let us know if you have any more questions or need further assistance. - David

@@hawaiiansouthshore Thnx for he info David. @hawaiiansouthshore
@hawaiiansouthshore Ай бұрын
@@leighrosendahl2734 Yep Dan Mann said familiar under the foot meaning they way it goes thru the wave and lay over on rail but the the SP and Dom will not surf the same at all. The Dom2 good for small to average days up to head high open face or much. If the wave become steeper and hollow it will start to feel a little stiff because it's harder to bury the rail. David

Mahalo for checking out our KZbin channel. Based on conversations we've had with people coming into the shop and recommending different types of fins, here's a breakdown of each option. Long story short, the Power Twins seem to be the favorite here in Hawaii for surfing both in town and in the country. Here is a link to all the 2+1 in stock www.hawaiiansouthshore.com/search?q=power+twins&options%5Bprefix%5D=last The Flat Earth Love-Hate Relationship: Many people find the Flat Earth to be a bit of a love-hate board. Often, they need to go up in volume compared to their normal board. Some days they love it, and other days it can be challenging. This is likely due to its small sweet spot and loose nature. Aipa Twins Characteristics: Fast and very loose. Feedback: Many who have tried them find them too loose, lacking the drive and projection down the line that they want. MR Twins Popularity: These fins are super popular and come in several different colors. They’re well-regarded, but might not offer enough projection and hold for the Flat Earth. Recommended: Power Twins with Stabilizer Why They’re Favored: These fins provide more stability and projection through turns, which is great for the Flat Earth's loose nature. Designed by Harley Ingleby, they offer a stable feel and give you a feel of a smooth roundhouse cutbacks and still release off the top. Options: Available as a twin fin or with a rear stabilizer. Mick Fanning 2+1 Why They're a Favorite: These fins are perfect for surfers who want to push the board really hard. They allow for wrapped turns and big roundhouse cutbacks. The beveled leading edge on the side fins helps the board sit well in the water. You need a push a little harder to make these fins work. If you interspersed in one of the fins Use this link to help support us if you decide to purchased. Shipping to US address if free and to west cost usually 2 to 3 days. International Orders: Taxes and duties will be calculated at checkout we ship using DHL. The 510 is V 37.6 & 60 is 40.1....I would say the 60... It's more of a growler so don't go down in volume. Our team rider rode my board and it's a few volumes too big but he said it didn't feel like he's too much on top of the water I guess because the rails are so pinched. With that extra volume you'll be able to float through the whitewash super junk days... So might as well make it fun. Here is a link to Daniels interview kzbin.info/www/bejne/iajLmmOijtqIapI - David
