On endless replay in my mind since Jack passed. Did the world ever truly appreciate the true depth of subtlety and interpretive command this man possessed and unspooled like some unknown elixir into our collective unconscious so perfectly? I wish I had paid closer attention while he was here.

This is one of my favorite songs, and sadly, never heard Jack's mesmerizing version before--perfect blend of sensitivity, mystery and dark surprise. This exceeds, in my mind, any other interpretation. Thank you Jack, for the windmills of your matchless musical history still leaving new hidden diamonds to uncover, sir.

Very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing last week. Growing up in the 1970s and ‘80s my parents were big fans. I saw Jack in concert many years ago and he was superb. I also met him and told him how much I loved his Harbour album, particularly the song ‘That’s what friends are for.’ He was delighted and chatted to me about it. What a lovely man and what a talent. Rest easy, Jack, and thanks for the magic. 🩵x
