Nice I would like your input on how to paint diecast Voltron from 1981? I have a used Voltron I bought recently and don’t of the paint on the lions chipped off. Thanks ahead
@toysbackzen5 күн бұрын
It depends on how far you want to go. If you just want to paint the chips I would use a small paint brush and fill the chips with enamel paint, may take a couple coats. You could fill the chips with primer first then mix the enamel to paint match the chips. If you want to restore, paint stripping, priming and then spray paint. Masking or removing plastic and stickers of course would be necessary.

Great video. Did you have to put a clear coat on once the Molotow chrome paint dried?
@toysbackzen12 күн бұрын
I don’t s because clear coat causes the chrome paint to loose its reflective properties.
@karllazlo623712 күн бұрын
@toysbackzen thank you. Did the chrome paint stay on with time or did it smudge/fade/oxidize?

I recently got an Astro Magnum (89-1001) KO (Soundwaves Oblivion has a great write up on the many variants of this mold). I was trying to fix the light and then realized the bulb was dead. I liked this video series because it shows all the crap I had to deal with to fix mine 😂. I wish I had found this video before I started on my repair job. Great video

In theory I heard years ago at some point that it was possible that it was Fistos body that they used for this version of He-Man. As someone else mentioned the maroonish weapons were the same ones that were put in the weapons pack with Man E Faces.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. This was done with a resin printer, resin is heavy and too brittle for RC. I would reach out to someone that is able to print SLA with a larger printer bed so the body can be done in 1 piece. This in RC form would be amazing!

Man I'm surprised you found one. My local toys are Us shut down like 5 years ago and it was at least a 20 minute drive. I miss the days where you could find exactly what you want and not have to deal with online shopping!

I was just in my local Toys R Us over the holidays and can’t believe the prices of toys these days. There’s also big sections of books, kitchen supplies and pop culture collectibles now? The Lego area was completely cleared out from Christmas. All the Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Marvel figures are way too expensive, ninja turtles don’t look the same anymore. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see them lasting much longer in Canada either.
@toysbackzen21 күн бұрын
Yeah they are overpriced for sure. After this video I went to a couple others in my area and they seem to be going strong.
@Pop_and_Chips21 күн бұрын
@ I hope they keep going as well, I even worked at a Toys R Us when I was younger. I noticed they’ve really expanded the types of products they carry, similar to HMV before they all closed.

Try different brands, some are more cloudy than others. If it’s really clear before it’s melted then it’s will give you a better result.

I loved this toy as a kid. 15 years ago I found a brand new unopened set on EBay and bought it. Of course I had to open it and play with it. Everything was in perfect order with the exception of the sticker sheet which was dried out so the stickers can’t be used. Still very cool.
@toysbackzenАй бұрын
That’s cool, use glue stick to apply the stickers.
@fusionspace175Ай бұрын
It's just insane to me they would go to all the trouble of this reproduction and leave out the bomb stickers. Why? How many fractions of a cent could it have possibly cost? Also not a fan of the stickers you do get coming pre-applied. I'm glad I waited and got mine for $20 on a cyber monday deal, if I had even paid a full shelf price I'd have been disappointed and upset with the entire purchase, let alone what the reissues were going for like a hundred on amazon.

My mother HATED these toys. It was the only toy line I was able to get a good number of pieces for, and she basically made me sell them off because she hated how I had to attach them to furniture to get the most playtime out of them. LOL

Nice save! I started using the orange bottle back around the late 90's for plastic model kits. I'm a micronaut collector. I played with the solvent glue to repair them too. Worked great! Micronauts has a 5mm plug and play feature. The sockets can get cracks in them. A drop of solvent glue and hold the socket wall together with a wooden close pin for a few minutes. Good as new.
