Pretty intresting that this type of aircraft was built for the filming of the movie Flight of the Phoenix (2004)

The clear blisters are the gun sighting stations that is why there are no guns, they are fired remotely.

Those are definitely pitot tubes. As @corywilliams6558 mentioned, they measure air pressure as a means of reporting the air speed of a plane (more air speed results in more measured air pressure). As far as I’m aware, the DC-3/C-47 wasn’t capable of in-air refueling.

I'm pretty sure those are pitot tubes. They are used to measure air speed. They are definitely not for refueling ( aerial or otherwise). Planes require a large amount of fuel, so the ports are far larger.

What type of bomber is that? (Edit: I think it’s a b-29 super fortress because of the tail gunner and they way the rudder is built)
@StanleySchmengie5 ай бұрын
You're right, it is a B-29. If you search for Travis AFB Museum on Google maps and zoom in on the outdoor static display, you can see that aircraft parked in front of the B-52 they have. The one with the orange nose and "1501 ATW" on the nose gear door is a 1950's vintage Douglas C-133 Cargomaster.

Looks like a Gopher snake. They are common in Cali & not venomous. Their bite doesn't even hurt since they are small, no need to worry.
