The people ride up on a chair lift. The karts ride up under those chairs...the "hook" is the bent tube in the middle of the handle bars...that is caught by the chair as it passes over the collected karts and before the people get seated in those chairs.

New Zealand has an Accident Compensation regime which fixes injuries to NZers and visitors. You cannot sue for damages or injuries. It means the money that goes to fixing people up doesn't go into lawyers' pockets...

It's actually quite dangerous...but if you crash and gravel rash yourself New Zealand has an Accident Compensation regime which fixes injuries to NZers and visitors. You cannot sue for damages or injuries. It means the money that goes to fixing people up doesn't go into lawyers' pockets...
