Christianity traditionally solves three problems for humans: the inclination to sin, the penalty of sin that is death, and the punishment for sin that is eternal hellfire. Most modern people do not believe in these three problems. Human limitations or failures are just that. When we die, we die. Why would a good God even tolerate punishing His own creatures eternally? So what are we supposed to do with the solution? Both the problems and the solution are headed for the museum.

I never considered the change in Peter's reaction from the first boat experience to the last. That was a really interesting comparison.

This guy did a series on marriage called conquest. I found it really helpful. Hope it helps you too!

I loved almost everything about this except the bit about debt. That is a nuanced subject that he just threw out there, and his brief example was the most complex part of it. Student loans. I think so many young and impressionable people go out into the world on their own for the first time, and we throw them right into the deep end of sin at a secular university. Some of the deepest levels of debauchery and some of the most compelling lies about God come from these institutions. Though not impossible to maintain ones faith there, you have to go against the current. Where as a Christian university puts the spiritual current at your back. Yet we value avoiding debt over our children's spiritual growth and maturity? This is a common occurrence and a missed nuance in his statement.

Sin only exist for people who are Christian. According to Buddhism, there is no such thing as sin as explained by other religions. I find it interesting that ARC cancelled the MOPS ministry (Mother’s of Pre-Schoolers), but is now subtly courting the LGBTQ community. They have stopped giving support to mothers and families but are now giving support to other groups.
