Hi Elethu, I don't have experience in consulting, it was just a path I had considered. How did I decide? I considered a couple of factors, like: The nature f the work, Salary, Company Culture to name a few. Consulting is a very interesting and stimulating space. You'll probably learn and grow a lot more there than in Banking. There's a lot more pressure. But I don't think you'll go wrong in any of the two. Just do your research, speak to people, and make sure you choose something that aligns with your interests.

i know people from ukzn who have started working with just a degree in statistics. Maybe change your approach in applying. There are many internships who are looking for interns in statistics like Firstrand, FNB, Standard Bank ,Capitec, Sanlam, old mutual, discovery etc. so my advice for you is to keep applying and don't give up ,also check linkedin there are people who can help you.

Hey. Thanks for putting yourself out there and asking. Please send me an email at [email protected]. I'll give you a few links to firms you can try. But the most important thing is to look at how your CV is written and what your accompanying cover letter says. Do you explain why you failed those modules in your cover letter? Do you highlight what you learnt from those failures and how that makes you stand out? Do you highlight what you can contribute and what you also love about the firm you are applying to? Also the trick is to once you've applied these tips to apply apply apply. Keep applying. And also once you have call. Call people and follow up if you hear nothing after a week. If you get a rejection politely ask why you didn't get the job.
