I can hear the anion generator arcing constantly in my unit with the mains on (motor is off). Is this normal? It was completely silent when I first got the unit. Does this mean accumulated coffee grounds are bridging the pins? If so, where are they located and can they be cleaned? Finally, wouldn't it be better if the anion generator power was connected to the motor power wires? That way it activates only when the motor is on.

Hi, if I buy from your website and choose the burrs to be any SSP version instead of the stock DLC burrs, will you deliver the grinder together with both the stock burrs and the SSP burrs that I choose? Or only the SSP burrs shall be delivered?

I know these are Chinese made grinders but seeing wire nuts being used hurts to see. Use better connectors. Kinda cheap.
@BigBenAdv13 күн бұрын
They are crimp terminals, not wire nuts. Granted he didn't use the correct tool to crimp them, when properly crimped, crimp ferrules/ terminals are much more secure than actual wire nuts. Wire nuts are what the Americans use for their electrical wiring and simply twist on. These aren't connections that are meant to resist movement in regular use, nor are they meant to be end user serviceable; the use of crimp terminal is perfectly good and there's no need for a reusable connection like Wagos which would drive the price up significantly.

I bought a socket with a switch to turn the DF64V power OFF if it gets too irritating, that's a work-around I guess. Still it's weird to me that the ionizer is working even when you are not grinding, shouldn't it be linked to the button that activates the motor?
@Max-mh5nzАй бұрын
that's funny. I watched the video several times, df54 spent 15 seconds grinding. The author spoke to the camera for another 15 seconds, after which he stopped the stopwatch. when you checked the df 64 the grinding was stopped immediately.

Yup, the first thing I noticed. Not a fair comparison on grinding time. Closer than he shows.
@gordontsui9413Ай бұрын
Oh no does the df64 have a retention issue? I just purchased the August batch 😬
@DF64CoffeeGrinderАй бұрын
Not at all! The DF64's ioniser helps with the grind retention issue. Just note that what we are using were not brand new grinders but grinders we have been using constantly for experiments and testing. The 64 needed more cleaning as grinds managed to build up over time at the ioniser probes so we always suggest to our customers to spend 3 seconds taking the pin brush and cleaning out the chute and the probes. Just simple maintenance like that will go a long way in ensuring the plasma generators work well! If you have any issues with your grinder you can always reach out to us at [email protected]!

@@naordaniel no problem. When I got my df54, I was using the metal cup from my d40+. I then started grinding directly into the portafilter, but that didn't last long, then I went to the plastic cup and I started having static issues. It never occur to me that it was the cup. I was frustrated one day after many weeks of static build up, and having done a full deep clean of the machine and still getting static buildup immediately after, that I searched it on reddit and someone mentioned the metal cup thing and it all made sense. Since then, I've been grinding directly into the portafilter with a small dosing funnel. No static issues at all, barely any buildup on the diodes, I shove a brush up there once a week just to keep it clean. And because the anti clumper and anti static is so good, I don't even wdt anymore. Tap it level, tamp and go

if you are still using the plastic cup, stop using it and get a metal cup or grind directly into portafilter. this will solve the static issues. the ionizer likely works fine, the plastic cup is a haven for static
